I'm a total Alice fan. I've read the books, seen the disney movie, played American Mcgee's Alice, it's actually one of my favorite games and i own it. My favorite character is the cheshire cat. I use him as my artist name, and for pretty much everything under the sun. So as a total Alice fan, having seen everything that was done,... This movie was supposed to be based entirely on the game. It came out in 2000 and i loved it. Well, the game is/was very gory. I'm not seeing much in this trailer about Alice being insane. In the game, she does not fall into the rabbit hole once more, but is in an insane asylum when she visits wonderland again. The game, is entirely morbid and bizzare, while this movie just looks like it's going to be a surreal version of the original disney movie. I suppose since this movie is once again made in the disney studio, it's as creepy and morbid as it can get, but still. Then again, i should simply be glad that they're making a movie at all, considering that the movie project for American Mcgee's Alice has been put off and off and off since 2001. Also, i love Tim Burton and his little family (Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter) they're amazing and i love every movie they make together. But Alice, for me is something i've been waiting for for a long long time and i can't help but feel a little disappointment. Tim Burton seems like he's trying to take all the credit for the movie. But if not for American Mcgee, there would be no movie. He's not saying: "oh this movie is based off the cult-hit game American Mcgee's Alice" He's just making it seem like he wrote the whole thing saying: "Oh with the tons of things based off alice, i never saw one that i liked" which isn't true. He's not acknowledging the game. Which kind of pissed me off a bit. This is all judging from the trailer. I don't know what the final product is so i can't really say much more.
