Olivia Wilde also stars in the flick.

Tron Sequel Renamed to Tron Legacy

In possibly the best move the Tron sequel has done since securing Jeff Bridges, the powers that be have renamed the movie from the horribly titled Tr2n to Tron Legacy.

We were gonna see it either way, but man this sure makes it way easier to talk about!  I mean, how did you even pronounce Tr2n.  Think about it.

Jeff Bridges: De-aged for Tron 2.0

Shooting for Tron 2.0 is underway.

According to sources, Disney flew Jeff Bridges to Canada for a unique digitization process that will "de-age" the actor by 27 years for the sequel.

Bridge's character from the original Tron, Flynn, is set to interact with his younger self in the follow-up, as early scenes from the movie show him watching over the young Flynn racing.

This technique - also used in X-Men: The Last Stand to knock 20 years off Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellen - involves plaster-casting Bridges to create a 3-D model; then sculpting a younger version of his face to be super-imposed onto a body double.

Tron 2.0 will be released in the summer of 2011.

Olivia Wilde Dishes on Tron Sequel

Olivia Wilde is speaking out about the upcoming sequel to Tron.

In an interview with Sci Fi Wire, the House star opened up - as most as she could - about the buzzed about follow-up:

The film will be just as impressive for our time as it was in 1982 for the original. The technological advances have, of course, been enormous, and the effects that we have access to have been so revolutionary. ... We saw an incredible advancement in technology with the use of the face replacement in Benjamin Button, and I think that is marking some of what's to come, and certainly .... in the direction of Tron.

Just as far as people being incredibly innovative and taking huge steps forward as far as using technology to create alternative realities. And I think that it's really going to please people that it's going to be just as kind of huge and shocking and just as much of a new movie-watching experience as the first one was.
