Transformers Sequel Photo: The Fallen

As previously reported, Devastator makes an appearance in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Now, fan site TFW2005 has posted a series of of CGI images of various robots from Michael Bay's Transformers sequel, including Devastator and The Fallen, pictured below.

Hugo Weaving Confirms Return of Megatron

It's already been reported, but now it's really confirmed: Megatron will return in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The source of this information? Hugo Weaving. In a new interview, the actor that voices this character said the voiceover is complete for the upcoming sequel.

"I've already done it," Weaving said. "There you go, I've given you the secret scoop."

So, how is Megatron resurrected?

Weaving will only offer a slight hint.

"I think in the last one, doesn't Optimus Prime pick up a little bit of, a little shard of the cube, or the thing that's left, and he takes it with him? Maybe there's something there... but I don't know," he said.

A rumor involving which major character will return in this summer's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has been confirmed.

In a discussion with fans at TFW 2005, screenwriter Roberto Orci wrote: "Megatron returns!" in response to a question about whether or not the Decepticon leader, voiced by Hugo Weaving, would come back.

Megatron was killed off at the end of the 2007 blockbuster during a brawl with Optimus Prime and Sam Witwicky.

Empire Magazine has published a first look at Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen... toys.

Included in this set is Soundwave. This Decepticon almost made it into the first film, only to have his Transforming trademark (of turning into a cassette player) given to Frenzy. What a crock!

Fortunately, the character will be included in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. He'll look like this:

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opens in conventional and IMAX theaters on June 26. Be on the lookout for its Super Bowl spot this Sunday.

Autobots Update: New Character in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

New details have emerged about a few of the new Autobots that will appear in this summer's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

As first reported by IESB, the Autobots will have an answer to the evil Devastator. It will be Superion, "the mighty union of the five Aerialbots."

Those five Aerialbots will be:

  • Silverbolt: Aerialbots leader
  • Airazor: Small but fierce
  • Fireflight: Easily distracted daydreamer
  • Skydive: Aerial strategy expert
  • Air Raid: Reckless divebomber

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Plot Details, Photo

Detailed plot information is starting to leak out regarding Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, 2009's most anticipated action movie.

According to USA Today, the sequel finds Sam (Shia LaBeouf) and Mikaela (Megan Fox) under attack by the Decepticons. These evil robots are after Sam because he's learned about the origins of the Transformers, including their history on Earth.

Meanwhile, the U.S. military and an international coalition have united with the Autobots to fight against the villains' attack.

Newcomers in the robot cast include:

  • Decepticons Soundwave: A fearsome communications expert
  • Devastator: His arms and legs are built out of other Transformers
  • Jetfire: An ancient villain who ends up helping the Autobots.

How did LaBeouf make the above scene look so realistic? Because it was.

"I've got 75 military officers firing at me, and I have shrapnel falling on my head that's bigger than my arms. It's hard to be normal," LaBeouf said of the shoot, which featured extras that were real-life Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine members.

Want inside information on a character in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen? Of course you do.

According to message boards at TFW2005, sources say the character of Alice (Isabel Lucas, pictured) "is a Pretender."

What does that mean, exactly? Wikipedia states that:

"A Pretender is a Cybertonian who can inhabit or exist alongside a remotely controlled robotic shell. This shell can appear humanoid, alien, monstrous or have a vehiclular form. Some advanced pretenders shells can even transform between several forms or combine with their controller's vehicle form. Others can shrink in size to pass for real humans or animals."

Tranformers 2What, exactly, is director Michael Bay’s plan for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?

A few spoilers have already been leaked regarding the 2009 blockbuster, but an upcoming comic book may be the best look yet into next summer's release.

Hardcore fans can look forward to a five-part prequel miniseries entitled “Transformers: Destiny” that will to bridge the gap between the 2007 film and its upcoming sequel. Writer Chris Mowry recently talked to MTV News about the project.

“[We're going to] expand on the ‘Reign of Starscream’ story that we’re doing and tie everything in to what this next movie is going to be,” said Mowry, who partners on the book with artist Alex Milne. “The next movie starts out with just tons of action and there’s obviously going to be a lot of questions, so we’re hoping to answer some of those beforehand.”
