Revealed: Transformers Sequel Logo!

While a few Transformers 2 spoilers have leaked out, those always must be taken with a grain of salt as big as Megan Fox's male fan base.

There's nothing to question about this news item regarding the Transformers sequel, though. Paramount/DreamWorks has released the logo for next summer's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Michael Bay Comments on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Entertainment Weekly talked to Michael Bay (pictured) about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We were encouraged by his take on sequels:

When we were writing the script, I said to the writers, "I hate sequels that try to make it to the third movie. Pretend like we’re never having a third movie, so let's go for broke on the second one. I hate those cliffhangers! Let's just make this movie stand on its own."

I really feel this movie is not a forced sequel. I think the script is really good, and I think it's got a lot of new stuff in it. There are a lot of rumors out there, but we've released a lot of fake stuff. We’ve done a really good job of keeping things secret.

Those that saw - and depised - Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, can relate to the idea of sequels being written as lame segues to the final films in a franchise.

Let's hope Bay keeps his word and that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen doesn't fall into this category.

Megan Fox Told to Lose Weight for Transformers 2

We'd take Megan Fox any way we could get her.

But those behind Transformers 2 reportedly told the gorgeous actress to pack on the pounds before filming.

“I’d lost a lot of weight and got really scrawny, but I was told I had to put on size for Transformers because [director Michael Bay] doesn’t like skinny girls,” Fox told Fox News.

The star's diet these days?

“I eat red velvet cake before I go to bed every night," she said. "And if you eat meals later, you’ll put on weight faster, so I had dinner at 10 p.m.”

Megan Fox Pic

As for the movie itself - Transformer 2 spoiler alert! - Fox said viewers won't get to see her new, naked body.

"There are no big love scenes,” Fox said of her and co-star Shia LaBeouf. “At this point, Shi and I have been dating for two years so we’re at the bickering stage, like an old married couple.”

Transformers 2 Promo: Revenge is Coming...

Let the Transformers 2 hype begin!

The following advertisement is on display at Hasbro Headquarters in Rhode Island:

Meanwhile, many movie fans have scoured the Internet and discovered set photos and videos from the filming for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. These take place at Princeton University... but for what purpose?

"[The university angle to the plot] "is all about Sam growing up and going to college... a teenager growing into a man," Director Michael Bay said of the locale.

A man who plays with menacing robots, that is.

Megan Fox Talks Transformers 2

Megan Fox is really hot.

Oh, and she also recently spoke to MTV News about Transformers 2.

"As big as the first movie was, this is 10 times as big, 10 times as many set pieces, explosions, and acrobatic stunts," Fox said. "Shia and I make out a little bit; I don't know if anyone wants to see that."

Shia LeBeouf wants to see and feel that.

Mikaela Banes

Megan Fox makes viewers drool as Mikaela Banes in Transformers.

As far as romance between characters Sam and Mikaela go, that's just one of many story lines set for the sequel. According to the Fox, some last-minute scrambling has been taking place to make sure this relationship can hold its own among all those Autobot vs. Decepticon showdowns.

"You know, we've been having script meetings, and we've been reworking the script, because they wrote it fast because of the writer's strike," the beautiful actress said. "And, we've just been going through and trying to do some character stuff for Shia and myself in the middle of this crazy world that they're in."

More on Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

Let's forget, for a moment, whether or not you like the sound of the title: Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

Instead, let's focus on the meaning behind the name of the Transformers sequel.

According to CHUD, "the Fallen" refers to one of the original 13 Transformers created by Primus.

The Transformers wiki provides background to this theory:

At the dawn of time, Primus created new life, the 13 original Transformers, to crew his planetary form into battle against his eternal nemesis Unicron. One of these 13, his original name now lost to the mists of time, turned against his siblings, his creator, and his universe, and betrayed them all.

...this guardian of entropy became obsessed with the darker side of chaos and death, and in the black place these urges led him, the betrayer found a new god, more suited to his nature. He turned against Primus and became the Fallen.

A Series of Transformers 2 Spoilers

Earlier today, we revealed one significant Transformers 2 spoiler: the movie's title.

Now, thanks to Slash Film, here are a series of Transformers 2 plot spoilers...

  • The opening of the movie takes place at a Steel Factory in Shanghai, China, where the Autobots, the British SAS (Matthew Marsden as "Graham" and Andrew Howard) and Captain Lennox's Military team are chasing after a Decepticon Audi RS8.
  • The autobots include a pair of robots called The Twins, which join together to form an Ice Cream Truck; and a hot pink ninja style motorcycle with black highlights that turns into Arcee.
  • Sam uses something called the "Splinter" to activate the SR-71, which transforms into Jetfire. Jetfire, it's presume, is a Blackbird spy plane, pictured here.
  • The involvement of a Constructicon Earth Mover pretty much confirms the rumor that the Constructicons and Devastator might appear in the film. Awesome.

Introducing: Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

Following all the recent news items regarding Transformers 2, here's a rather key piece of information:

The sequel's title!

Reportedly, the film will be called Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

What do you think of this movie title?

Michael Bay Comments on Transformers 2

Sequels are often criticized because they do nothing but set up the plot for the third film in a given franchise. Need proof?

See Back to the Future, The Matrix, and Pirates of the Caribbean. In all, the last thing said on screen during the second film was a cliffhanging new plot point. It's an unfair way to force audiences to wait a year and shell out more money to see the resolution of, essentially, two movies at once.

However, Transformers director Michael Bay told MTV News that Transformers 2 would be entirely self-contained.

"You know how those sequels they do the second one so you go see the third one? [Transformers 2] is it," he said, indicating that the sequel would be its own story. "First one was just introducing, setting up stuff, so we can go a lot farther. Let's just say [this] is not a lame sequel."

Reports have stated that that upwards of 20 robots will do battle in the blockbuster sequel. For Bay, though, it's not the number of robots present, but how they'll be more fully and individually realized that has him excited.

"The robots are going to surprise a lot of people because we go with a lot of different levels," he said.

Matthew Marsden Joins Cast of Transformers 2

Matthew Marsden has joined the cast of Michael Bay's Transformers 2.

It must not have been difficult to convince the actor, as he'll join a list of stars that includes Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese in the blockbuster's follow-up.

Look for Matthew Marsden in Transformers 2.

Marsden has been cast in the role of "Graham. He's rumored to be part of the British Special Forces. All we currently know about the plot is that it will depict an even more worldly battle than the first Transformers film, while being shot all over the world.

In the sequel, Graham teams with Duhamel and Tyrese's military characters, joining their efforts as they do battle with the evil Decepticons.
