Will Linda Hamilton Make a Cameo in Terminator Salvation?

Rumors of Arnold Schwarzenegger popping up in Terminator Salvation have died down.

But fans are now wondering about whether or not Linda Hamilton will make a cameo in the remaking of this franchise.

According to TheArnoldFans.com, the famous Polaroid picture of Sarah Connor will appear in the film for certain. It will, of course, bear Hamtilon’s likeness.

The website reportedly spoke to someone involved in Terminator Salvation at Comic Con who told them they’ll indeed be using the Hamilton photo in the film.

"Linda is the only way to go to honor the original Terminator films and to tie our films together," the source said. “We're big fans of The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but we're either going with Linda or shooting the actors holding a picture. The audience is smart enough to realize what they are looking at. We just need to contact Linda still."

Well... a couple of weeks have passed and a representative for Hamilton says no one has spoken to the actress yet.

As soon as she knows if she's involved with the film, we'll let you know.

Helena Bonham Carter Reveals Slight Terminator Salvation Spoiler

Helena Bonham Carter won't reveal too much about her character in Terminator Salvation, but did she tell Sci-Fi Wire that Serena will be a villain.

"I kind of play a baddie, definitely a baddie," Bonham Carter said. "I don't know how much I'm allowed to say, but I'm a very bad person."

The actress added that she was pushed into the role by long-time boyfriend, director Tim Burton.

"Tim would have killed me if I hadn't done it, because he's such a Terminator fan. I've been in big movies before... Fight Club was big in a different way, and Charlie [and the Chocolate Factory] and Sweeney Todd were big, but I've never been in this kind of big popcorn action movie, a male one, an action one."

Arnold Schwarzenegger Screens Terminator Salvation

The producers of Terminator Salvation recently screened footage of their movie for a certain former actor and current governor.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, however, wasn't overly impressed. He didn't sound enthusastic about the rebooting of the franchise he began in 1984.

"I still don't know how it will play out with this one," Schwarzenegger told The LA Times. "They showed me some footage, but I don't have a feel for the movie. I didn't see enough. I wasn't sure who the Terminator was. I don't know if there is one or if he's the star or the hero. These are the things that determine the success and how the strong the movie will be."

Sam Worthington Talks Terminator Salvation

At Comic-Con last week, MoviesOnline caught up with Sam Worthington. The actor takes on the role of Marus Wright in Terminator Salvation, a stranger who shows up and causes a dilemma for John Connor in the movie.

Here are excerpts of the interview...

On director McG: First thing McG ever said to me was I don’t want to make a McG movie. I want to make a Terminator movie and that’s where we are.

On his mindset for the movie: In this movie, I’ve been blown up, shot at, mined, napalmed. You name it, I’ve fuckin’ had it. How do you prepare for that? You just get in there and do your job. It’s as simple as that.

On his character: I look at this movie as what makes Kyle Reese Kyle Reese and what makes John Connor John Connor and my character’s almost like a bridge between them. I look at my character as a bridge to how they connect and how they grow. He’s a drifter.

McG Reveals Slew of Terminator Salvation Spoilers

For those that aren't satified with the Terminator Salvation trailer, director MgG has revealed a handful of spoilers for the 2009 reinvention of this franchise.

At Comic-Con over the weekend, the director with the silly name was surrounded by cast members Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood and Bryce Dallas Howard. Here are a few facts about the film he let slip:

  • Fear is a major theme of McG's motivation for the movie. In order to make Terminator Salavation, he said he had to take a different approach than he did with Charlie's Angels: "I needed to face what I most afraid of."
  • From the use of fear to modern technology, the director explained that the latter was a Pandora's box. Stealth bombers and Osprey planes are among the machinery increasingly evident in the new movie.
  • The specific, other-worldy look and feel of Terminator Salvation one of the hallmarks of the new film's dystopia. McG said he "wanted to create a new film language." He even worked with Kodak to add three times the usual amount of silver to the film stock. Why? Because he wants creates an "ethereal quality that suggests something is off."

Does all this makes you more excited to see Terminator Salvation (if that's even possible, of course)?

With Christian Bale onboard, to say that we're excited about this latest addition t othe Terminator franchise would be an understatement.

Christian Bale: Excited to Reinvent Terminator Franchise

In theaters these days, prior to The Dark Knight, Christian Bale is featured in ads for Terminator Salvation.

The actor recently told MTV he was excited to be jump-starting another iconic franchise.

“I see there is great potential for reinvention and revitalization of the mythology of it,” Bale said. “And that’s what I’m aiming to do. That’s what I feel like our responsibility is; otherwise there is no point in making it.”

Bale added that the script is similar to Batman Begins; it brings a fresh perspective to a fatigued series, while keeping one foot firmly planted in the past.

“In Terminator we are continuing a mythology,” he said. “We don’t ignore a mythology, [similar to what] we did with Batman.”

Terminator Salvation Spoiler: Roland Kickinger Cast

Roland Kickinger is a former bodybuilder that's inheriting a movie role made famous by another former bodybuilder.

According to The Clinton News-Record, Kickinger will portray the T-800 in Terminator Salvation. The muscle-bound actor talked about his role in the film (warning: slight spoilers ahead!):

"There's a very strong scene in the film where John Connor for the first time meets the Terminator, and he doesn't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy," said Kickinger. "It's Arnold's character in the first Terminator. That's basically my role, but 20 years before, so it establishes how the Terminator [came] about."

Writer Dishes on Terminator Salvation, Christian Bale

T4IGN recently spoke with The Shield creator Shawn Ryan about "production rewrite" he underwent for Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

Here are excerpts from the interview with Ryan:

IGN: How did you get involved on Terminator and how long did you work on it?
Shawn Ryan: One of the producers, Dan Lin, was familiar with my work and I sort of put the word out that I was looking for a movie rewrite job while I had the time to do one. I came in three weeks before filming began and took a pretty big whack at the script. I spent a lot of time with McG and with Dan and with [producers] Moritz Borman and Jeanne Allgood, who are also producers on the film, just sort of talking about where they were on the script they had and what needed to be changed and what we'd change it to.

I'd spend the days in Albuquerque talking about what needed to be changed and I'd go to my hotel room and sort of write all night, until like 4 in the morning. So we did a lot of work and then I had to come back because of TV commitments and I think they've subsequently brought in one or two other writers to continue the work.

So I don't know what will be there. But I got to meet with the actors – meet with Christian Bale and Sam Worthington and Anton Yelchin and Moon Bloodgood, who are all in the film and talk to them about the characters and do some work on that. It's a franchise that I've always been really enamored with and I always loved those stories and it just felt like a great opportunity.

IGN: Knowing Christian Bale was playing John Connor, did that inform your writing of the character?
Ryan: Absolutely, yeah. I watched some of Christian's films just to try and get a sense of his voice and had a meeting with him and McG to talk about it. He's obviously a smart, wonderful actor and he's not going to put up with s***ty lines. [Laughs] So it put some pressure to make it good.
