Rambo 5 Back on Track

Sylvester Stallone is hard at work on The Expendables, but has taken the time to address the plot of the next Rambo installment.

Stallone has told his #1 fansite StalloneZone.com that he's changing the plot of Rambo 5 back to the originally proposed "Rambo Goes to Mexico" storyline:

"I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished .

There will be blood."

As was reported earlier, the next film will follow Rambo as he fights his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Stallone Takes a Workout Break to Talk Expendables

Sylvester Stallone is hard at work on his next adrenaline-drenched actioner, and as was reported last week, just shot a pivotal scene with action alums Ahnold and Bruce. Well, today Stallone took a break from kicking ass to talk to Entertainment Weekly about that crucial scene.

Stallone Gets Ripped for The Expendables

From the EW article:

Stallone said the superstar-summit scene takes place in a church, where Willis' nasty antagonist has summoned Stallone's macho mercenary to finally meet him face-to-face, take measure of him, and possibly hire him for a death-defying mission. But just as the meeting gets under way and smartass smalltalk is made, in walks another killer-for-hire — Stallone's longtime rival, who Willis has also invited to this job interview: Ah-nuld.

"Bruce says 'Well, there's one other person I want to talk to before I hire you," says Stallone. "And then Arnold, who plays my old rival, walks in. We have a history together. And we go back and forth and I tell him that I should have shot him a long time ago when I had the chance. Then it goes on from there. And here we are, the three of us trying to man up to one another, playing off of who we are, using our baggage in this one scene."

Sounds pretty freakin' awesome! And just look at that picture of Stallone all ripped and tatted up. Everything about this movie screams 80's blow-em up ridiculousness, and after Stallone's ultra-bloody Rambo, I can't help but get excited by the premise of The Expendables.

The Expendables is set to shred theater screens on August 20, 2010.

Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Willis are Expendable!

Before he dons the headband again for another Rambo, Sylvester Stallone needs to finish up his most recent explosive romp.  This past Saturday, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis joined Stallone to shoot a scene in the upcoming adventure extravaganza The Expendables.

The Expendables teaser poster

Ethelmae's Blog describes the, um, action:

After Arnold, Bruce and Sly went through the scene a couple of times they all 3 headed off to wardrobe and make-up. at 8:10am with three cameras rolling the biggest action icons of our time went to work. I thought it was electric in Brazil when all of The Expendables stepped on set – but today was atomic!!!! the whole crew was mesmerized as we watched the three of them play off of each other in a pivotal scene that sets up the whole movie. And while I can’t/don’t want to give too much away I can tell you that Arnold’s character is Trench and Bruce is Church, the scene was shot in an empty church without extras and minimal set dec and it has tension and humor – what more can a girl ask for! Sly was in top form as a director today and was in total command. Bruce and Arnold were consummate professionals at all times – we got through the scene quickly without compromise. In 6 hours we did wide shots, close-ups, turned around…the whole nine yards…pretty impressive. Very Clint Eastwood.

Written and directed by Stallone, the film also stars Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Charisma Carpenter, Giselle Itie, Brittany Murphy, David Zayas and Amin Joseph. The action-adventure follows a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator.

Lionsgate has set The Expendables to blast into theaters on August 20, 2010.

Rambo Reboot: Sylvester Stallone Confirms Fifth Installment

Sylvester Stallone made six Rocky movies (though many fans of this franchise like to pretend Rocky V never happened).

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the action star is gearing up for a fifth Rambo installment.

When asked by Extra about the possibility of reprising his role as the mass-murdering pacifist, Stallone replied:

"Yeah, we are doing another Rambo, but the conflict is whether to do it in America or a foreign country."
