Considering the rather vast appeal of the Star Wars franchise, it's safe to assume that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be a hit at the box office.

For those unsure about what this animated feature is all about, though, here's a look at how various critics have reacted to it...

The animated, upcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars opens this week, providing audiences another opportunity to pal around with old friends such as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and R2-D2.

However, those that voices those characters in past Star Wars films won't be part of the project. How come? MTV went to director George Lucas for the answer.

When we decided to do the feature, we went back to the actors and said, ‘Look, we’re doing a feature. Would you like to do the voice? Could you come in a month?’ Some of them were all over the world. It was hard to get all the actors that would be off on set.

You need people available every week. [Also] you can’t really afford multi-million dollar actors to do a television series. Those guys make more during their coffee break.

With Star Wars: Clone Wars coming to theaters in just two weeks, the latest Star Wars entry is starting to get the hype it deserves.

Sure it may be a computer generated movie, but it's our first chance to watch the clone wars we hear referenced so much in our favorite movies.  Enjoy the following clip exclusively available to MTV Movies.

The clip is entitled "Anakin Heads into Battle" and it's well, a clip of Anakin and a fellow Jedi friend heading into battle.

As Star Wars: The Clone Wars gets closer to its August release date, expect many more promotional images from this latest entry in this famous film franchise.
