Kim Cattrall: Sign Me Up for Sex and the City Sequel!

There was talk of an Iron Man sequel long before the original hit the big screen.

So why not start similar rumors about a follow-up to the Sex and the City movie? Star Kim Cattrall already has.

"The audience is so happy to see the girls back," said the actress this week. "It was a blast to make and I hope we get to come back and make another."

Samantha Jones

Before we can consider this, the original Sex and the City movie has to open. Send us your thoughts on it after you see it.

Sex and the City Movie Clip of the Day

Here's another clip from Sex and the City: The Movie. Need we remind fans that it opens on May 30?

No? You already knew that and have had the date circled for the past six months? We figured as much.

Kristin Davis Dishes on Sex and the City Movie

Kristin Davis has returned to playing Charlotte York - sorry, Charlotte York Goldenblatt - after a four-year hiatus. She recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about filming Sex and the City: The Movie.

There was also all the insane media scrutiny and hordes of paparazzi while you were shooting. Was that distracting?
Certainly, sometimes, definitely. There's this huge energetic thing that happens in New York. So I feel like it made me go into super-focus land, which is actually a good thing. At one point, my back was to the crowd and the paparazzi â€" the other girls were facing me â€" and the paparazzi were like, ''Kristin, move over! Move to the left!'' And I did it because everyone is shouting at me.

Charlotte York

It's like you're a robot. So I move over to the left and I'm like, ''What?! Wait a minute! My mark is over there. I'm supposed to be doing a scene!'' So it was a little challenging, but I don't think the movie would have been made if we didn't have that kind of fan support.

How is Charlotte doing, when we find her?
Well, her journey has been that she now has gotten these things that she has wanted for so long. Yes, they look different than she [originally] wanted, but it's been a satisfying shift for her and she's more grounded, a little bit less high-strung, a little bit less controlling.

The apartment isn't solid white â€" there's some color! And then I would say the biggest issue is that she kind of feels guilty. It's hard when you actually get the things that you fight for so hard and for so long and then maybe your friends don't have them. She feels a little separate from them, which she doesn't want to feel.

Reel Movie Reviews: Sex and the City: The Movie

There's little doubt you can pencil in Sex and the City: The Movie at the top of the box office rankings for next week. But does this mean the film is actually any good?

While many viewers may not even care - they'll be more focused on Carrie and company's fashion choices - we asked a handful of critics for their take on this anticipated remake...

- Will give female audiences a jolt of excitement in the same way that seeing Indiana Jones back in action will thrill male audiences this summer... -- Boxoffice Magazine

- For a series so steeped in romance, the eagerly awaited Sex and the City movie feels a trifle half-hearted... -- Variety

The Fab Four

- Yes, it's good to see the Fab Four together again. You just wish they were in a funnier and wittier film than this indulgent and essentially middlebrow saga that feels like six TV episodes glued together, with a running time of two and a half hours... -- Emanuel Levy

- One thing's for sure: fans of the series will lap this film up... -- The Daily Telegraph

Major Sex and the City Movie Spoiler Alert!

You can't get much more of a Sex and the City movie spoiler than this:

It's a clip from the upcoming film, and it reveals a rather major story line. Check it out at your own risk...

David Eigenberg: Great to be Back on Sex and the City Set

David Eigenberg, as Sex and the City fans know, portrays Steve Brady in the hit sitcom and - starting next week - movie.

He recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the shoot. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Did you have any hesitation in reprising the role?
Number one, I never thought they would actually make it. Then I saw the script. I was like, ''Wow, it's very nice and respectable; it's a beautiful story for Miranda and Steve.'' I guess there's always a little apprehension.

Miranda and Steve

Is all well in Miranda and Steve land?

It must be hard to move on if that's what you become known for.
In the public eye, I certainly get seen as Steve, and once in a while someone knows my real name. One of the last nights before [my wife and I] made the decision to do it, we were sitting [at our] fifth anniversary dinner. These three women were sitting at this table next to us, and they flipped out. My wife was like, ''David, for that reason alone, you have to do it.''

Sex and the City: The Movie opens on May 30.

Kim Cattrall Speaks on Sex and the City Movie Rumors

As the actress rumored to have held up a Sex and the City movie, Kim Cattrall makes for an interesting interview. She recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss the film:

How did it feel to go back to Samantha?
Really, really exciting. The first day of shooting was beyond anything that I had ever witnessed. A girlfriend came to visit me on the set and she nudged me and said, ''You guys are the Beatles!'' On both sides of the street, in the middle partition of Park Avenue where we were filming, it was standing room only. All the plants were being crushed, people were yelling our names, our characters' names, Pat Field's name...

It was like they were in on something that they thought had passed and that they would only dream about or watch on DVD, and now they were part of it as well. It was really exciting. Getting back into shape with those high heels â€" that was the only not-fun part about it. At night, the goddamn balls of my feet were throbbing.

When the movie fell apart the first time around, all of the finger-pointing turned your way. How did that feel?
Well, it's devastating, because it was not true. What am I gonna say? I tried to give the story and my side of it. My separation from my husband, and then my divorce, was all over the headlines here in New York and in the gossip columns. That was just really hurtful. People in my family I hadn't even told, and because I wasn't here or there with my husband, people starting putting things together. I kind of really needed to get away.

Sex and the City Stars Speak on Filming Movie

The cover story of this week's Entertainment Weekly features a certain famous foursome: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.

The Sex and the City stars discussed how crazy it was to film their movie n New York City.

"‘On my first day, we all had to walk down the street together, and there were hundreds of people on Park Avenue, watching us," said Nixon. "It was daunting."

Added Parker:

"It took two to three times as long to shoot. It's flattering that anybody still cares about these characters. But it's like an amoeba â€" ever-growing and out of control."

Sex and the City: The Movie gets carried away - as its posted say - on Friday, May 30.

Sarah Jessica Parker Speaks on Sex and the City Movie, Characters

How have Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte changed from the heydey of the Sex and the City series to the upcoming Sex and the City movie?

Let's find out from star Sarah Jessica Parker:

Their lives are much less frivolous. They can't cope with their problems by putting on their sweats and staying up all night and ordering in food and gossiping about the men in their lives. There is less self-absorption but perhaps a little more self-awareness.

Movie Director Comments on Rumored Death and the City

Rumors floating around the release of the Sex and the City movie - sparked by comments Cynthia Nixon made - state that a major character will die in the anticipated summer release.

Specifically, talk has turned to the possible death of Mr. Big (Chris Noth) because, come on, none of the fab four will be perishing. That would truly be insane.

But director Michael Patrick King says the idea of killing off Big would be equally idiotic for the franchise.

"Kill Mr. Big? I would have been chased around the planet by women with torches," he joked to the Associated Press.

However, King did confide that he was looking to infuse some layers of melodrama into this film adaptation of the show; perhaps not as much as a darker drama would call for, though.

"My ultimate target," King said, "was to make our 'girlfriends' â€" in other words, our audience â€" happy. And I don't think Mr. Big dying would make them happy."

When pressed on the possibility of potential other deaths, the director seemed to hint at something: "It's a summer movie," he said. "Why would I want to kill anyone?"

Considering summer is the season for action-packed thrilled that involve many heart beats coming to an end, sounds like sarcasm to us - and another reason to go see Sex and the City: The Movie!
