John Rambo: [grabs Burnett by the throat, and slams him up against a support beam] Who are you?
Sarah: Let him go!
John Rambo: They would’ve raped her fifty times… and cut your fucking heads off. Who are you? Who are any of you?

John J. Rambo: Fuck the world.

John J. Rambo: [while aiming an arrow at Lewis' eye] Any of you boys want to shoot, now’s the time. There isn’t one of us that doesn’t want to be someplace else. But this is what we do, who we are. Live for nothing, or die for something. Your call.

John J. Rambo: You didn’t kill for your country… you killed for yourself.

John J. Rambo: Live for nothing, or die for something.

John J. Rambo: When you’re pushed, killing’s as easy as breathing.

Reel Movie Reviews: Rambo

reel-reviews-logo46.jpg Stop us if you’ve heard this before: Sylvester Stallone is resurrecting a character that made him famous for yet another version of an ancient franchise.

This time, however, it’s not Rocky Balboa.

Indeed, John Rambo is back in the aptly title movie, Rambo. Let’s find out if critics feel like Stallone made the right move in bringing this action hero back to the big screen…

- It’s confusing. Rambo makes you root for the wrong things. The Arizona Republic

- The action here is repetitive, derivative, and clunky. Then there’s the subtext, which embodies enough jingoistic Imperialism to make Kipling puff up his chest with pride. Killer Movie Reviews

John Rambo Photo

- Has the gritty realism of the first film and a sadder mood for our hero but still continues Rambo as a soldier for hire involved in a standard plot. Mark’s Movie Reviews

- Stallone (who looks fit but mostly keeps his shirt on) has no intention of bogging the action down, but it’s still a notably cheerless exercise, without knowing winks or stabs (pardon the expression) at humor.Variety

Sylvester Stallone Speaks on Rambo

Yes, Rambo is back.

Its star, Sylvester Stallone, recently chatted with Comingsoon.net about reprising one of his most famous roles:

CS: Did you have to go back and watch the previous “Rambo” films to get back into character?
Stallone: Yeah, you know kind of just the ponderousness that comes with aging, the sense of weight, the sense of knowledge, knowing too much, the lack of naiveté which happened in my life, sort of set the stage for me. I wanted Rambo to be heavier, bulkier, that’s why his first line in the movie is pretty negative. He’s given up. He has nothing.

Rambo in Action!

The other Rambos I felt had a bit too much energy. They were a little too spry. I’m not trying to run myself down but there was much more vanity involved. Tank tops, it was all about body movement rather than just the ferocity and the commitment of what he was doing. This character to me is much more interesting.

I like “First Blood” and I like this one, just like the first “Rocky” and the last “Rocky Balboa.” Everything in between was kind of trying to figure out what I should do.

Here’s another exclusive picture from the set of the next Rambo movie.

Sylvester Stallone told MTV News the following regarding the next - and, we gotta assume, final - installment of the franchise:

“We pushed the boundaries further than they have ever been pushed in an area of brutality and violence because we want to show the horrors of war and not candy-coat the real nightmare that the people are faced with there.”

John Rambo is a withdrawn man who is finally at peace with himself because he’s checked out of civilaztion. He realizes and believes that war is natural and peace is an accident — and he wants no part of either.

While we often mock a new Rambo movie, chances are good we’ll be lining up to see it when it hits theaters. Here’s a shot of Stallone in the new film:

A Sneak Peak at Rambo

Our thanks to MTV Movies Blog for the following exclusive look at the next Rambo film, along with a quote from the film’s star, Sylvestor Stallone:

MTV: Where are you at with “Rambo” today? What remains to be done? What are the biggest challenges you’re finding in the editing room?
STALLONE: We are just finishing up post-production on the film, which will be released on January 25th. The biggest challenges I’ve had is finding the right balance between the true Burmese crisis — which has been on going on for 60 years, where rape, torture and murder are commonplace there — and creating an action film that gives vieweres what they want, without being preachy.

Rambo Movie Poster Revealed

Yes, there really is another Rambo on the way.

Apparently, Sylvester Stallone learned nothing from Rocky Balboa and is determined to beat his famous franchises into the ground.

Rambo Movie Poster

It appears as though the title for the latest installment is simply Rambo, which we guess makes sense. These movies have screwed up their names enough along the way already.

Remember, the second was called Rambo: First Blood Part II. Which causes Naked Gun 33 and 1/3 to barely seem comedic by comparison.
