Lies! Rachel McAdams No, Julia Stiles Yes for Spider-Man 4?

While Spider-Man 4 is chugging along, it seems that some of what we've been hearing hasn't been true. Rachel McAdams has denied rumors that she is even in the running for the role of Black Cat in the latest Spidey adventure.

It would seem that Bourne trilogy alum Julia Stiles is the top contender now. Reports say the 10 Things I Hate About You star "has met with a casting company in New York to discuss (the project)."

Just as with McAdams, conclusions shouldn't be jumped to, as this certainly doesn't mean Miss Stiles has the part, only that she's being considered.

Conversely, a casting notice for a Caucasian toddler with red hair have triggered rumors that Peter Parker and Mary-Jane Watson will be having a child in this latest installment...

Rachel McAdams to be New Spidey Girl?

Last month, Sam Raimi said he was getting ready to cast Spider-Man 4. Since then, we've learned that Dylan Baker is returning as Curt Connors and that the villain may very well be The Lizard.

Now, rumors are mounting that everyone's favorite mean girl Rachel McAdams is in the running to play Felicia Hardy/Black Cat.

Mania reports that McAdams is the frontrunner for the role, an on and off friend/foe of Peter Parker's, and that they are also casting for a male villain, which could mean there are going to be two villains in Spider-Man 4, contrary to what Sam Raimi hinted at previously. Bear in mind that none of  this has been confirmed and could be nothing but conjecture.

Rachel McAdams Preps Fans for The Time Traveler's Wife

The Time Traveler's Wife may be a beloved best-seller, but Rachel McAdams recently told MTV that fans of the book need to prepare themselves for a different version on screen.

“It depends on how attached you get to books,” McAdams said in response to a question about how viewers will feel about the film version. “Because, you know, the films always change [things].”

McAdams, Rachel

McAdams stars in The Time Traveler's Wife, which opens on Christmas, opposite Eric Bana. She noted how difficult it can be to squish 400 pages into 90 minutes.

“This film really centers on the love story,” McAdams said of the choices director Robert Schwentke has taken with the film. “The book does as well, but the film is really distilled down to the love story.”

McAdams will portray Holmes' love interest, Irene Adler, a character who appeared in Doyle's 1891 "A Scandal in Bohemia." While the character only appeared in that one story, it's already been announced that the Wedding Crashers actress would return for any possible sequel.

Downey will play Holmes in the film, while Mark Strong takes on the main villain, Blackwood. Jude Law is portraying Holmes' colleague Watson.

Rachel McAdams Speaks on Auditions, Ryan Gosling Sex Scenes

Rachel McAdams will forever be linked wirh Ryan Gosling. It's largely because these two stars have dated off and on for many years.

But it's also because they comprised the main couple in the ultimate chick flick: The Notebook.

In a recent interview with T Magazine, the beautiful actress answered a few questions about her career... and Gosling, of course.

Do you like to audition? I love auditioning. Since The Notebook and Wedding Crashers, I don’t have to audition anymore, and I miss it. You get to show your interpretation of the character. I get nervous when I don’t audition. What if they hate what I want to do?

I also like screen tests, where they put you in a room with your male co-star. They want to see if the two of you have chemistry together. There’s something wonderfully old-fashioned about a chemistry test. During a movie, chemistry is so important, and yet they just assume actors can fake their way through it. That doesn’t always work.

In The Notebook, you and Ryan Gosling had amazing chemistry. Are love scenes difficult? They’re strange. A kiss with anyone, on or off camera, can be intimidating. I’ve been kissing for nearly two decades now, and I’m always convinced I’m not doing it right. Chemistry is so important in a great kiss. You can act your way through anything, but it’s hard with a kiss. It’s much better if there’s an attraction.
