Alicia Keys and Jack White Doing the Bond Theme Song

There's been a lot of controversy surround who will be singing the new Bond theme song for Quantum of Solace.  First we had rumors of an Amy Winehouse, then a return of Duran Duran, and then finally Alicia Keys.

Well, according to MTV News, there was quite a bit of fact to that last rumor.  It's official now that Alicia Keys will be teaming up with White Stripes frontman Jack White to produce the upcoming Quantum of Solace theme song titled "Another Way to Die."

These two unbelievably talented individuals will mark the first duet to ever sing a bond theme song.  Keys will be singing while White will write, produce, and plays the drums on the track.

Does this make us even more excited for Quantum of Solace to hit the bigscreens on November 7?  If only that were possible...

Duran Duran to Sing Quantum of Solace Theme Song?

Duran Duran has told the UK's The Daily Mirror that the band would love to collaborate with producer Mark Ronson on the the latest James Bond theme.

The group previously recorded the title track for A View to a Kill in 1985, and Nick Rhodes told the newspaper he and his band mates would love to repeat the experience on Quantum of Solace.

"We'd love to collaborate with Mark on a single for the film" he Rhodes, adding: "With him, we may even be able to surpass A View to a Kill."

Amy Winehouse had been scheduled to record the theme, but she dropped out in May because, well, she's an insane drug addict.

Quantum of Pain: Daniel Craig Injured on Set

Daniel Craig sliced off the tip of one of his fingers filming an action sequence this week for Quantum of Solace.

Guess that's what happens when you try flying off a bus...

Excuse Him...

According to The Daily Mail, Craig was taken to hospital today while a scene was being shot at Pinewood Studios.

It's the second time in two weeks that the actor has been injured during filming. A week ago his face was cut and required eight stitches. It's a small price to pay to portray James Bond, of course.

Awesome Rumor of the Day: Sean Connery to Play Villain in Quantum of Solace

sean-connery-good.jpg How cool would this be?!?

The original James Bond, Sean Connery, is actually quoted by Ace Showbiz as saying that he'd be willing to portray the villain in Quantum of Solace.

"I wouldn't mind coming back as a Bond villain. But I don't think they would pay me enough. They don't pay the money for other parts, only for the Bond character, although that wasn't the case when I was doing it."

Wow. Bitter much, Mr. Connery?

The aforementioned movie sites goes on to say that Connery has been contacted about the role:

"Allegedly, the 77-year-old Academy Award-winning actor has been involved in negotiations to land a villain role with the film's producers since Daniel Craig has been tapped to bring Ian Fleming's agent back to the big screen with Casino Royale."

What do you think? Would Sean Connery make a good James Bond villain in Quantum of Solace?

Paul Haggis Speaks on Writing Quantum of Solace, Directing James Bond

casino-royale-20080310012726231.jpg Paul Haggis is an Oscar-winning screen writer that has penned Casino Royale, the upcoming Quantum of Solace and the 2005 Academy Award Winner for Best Picture, Crash.

It's quite the resume.

Despite those credentials, though, Marc Foster will be behind the camera for Quantum of Solace. Haggis says that he ruled himself out of the running before his name could be thrown into the mix:

"Look what Martin [Campbell] did with Casino Royale, he shot for 120 days, it's so difficult to do something like that and I'm not sure that I'm up for that Herculean feat. When I've made four or five films I'd like to do a Bond film, or something like that."

For now, Haggis certainly isn't complaining about writing for 007: "I love writing Bond, it's fun. I get to be part of a team, who are re-exploring the classic character, reinventing something that I loved when I was young."
