Olga Kurylenko Reveals Quantum of Solace Spoiler

Olga Kurylenko portrays the character of Camille in Quantum of Solace.

And the actress says she's happy about the fact that - SPOILER ALERT! - Camille doesn't join the long list of Bond Girls who sleep with the film's main star.

"I'm very proud of that," the Ukrainian-born model-turned-actress said of her character's strictly platonic relationship with 007. "He's been sleeping with all the girls and it's good that he’s not sleeping with me because my character is strong. It's not about that. She's strong and independent. And he's not interested too, because he just lost the woman he loved and he's not about to jump on the next one."

Deleted Scenes Reveal Major Quantum of Solace Spoilers

At a recent press conference, Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster opened up about a series of deleted scenes from the movie. Interestingly, they reveal a lot about the parts that actually made the cut.

For example, the original ending made a trilogy a practical inevitability, while the current conclusion essentally serves as a bookend to the two-chapter storyline that began with 2006's Casino Royale.

"There was a scene after where the movie ends now," said Forster. "The movie felt sort of complete with Bond finding his 'quantum of solace.' If I would have kept the scene, then producers wouldn't have had a choice but to make it a trilogy. Now they can start new. They have that opportunity."

Forster added that the axed scene will be on the eventual Quantum of Solace DVD. What is it comprised of?

"Let's put it this way: Bond encounters Mr. White at the end of that scene," said the director, hinting at the possibility that White may be the chief architect of the conspiracy at the heart of the film. "You wouldn't have had a choice at the end of that but to follow that lead."

Major Quantum of Solace Spoiler: The End of Agent Fields?

Quantum of Solace spoiler alert!

According to an article in Great Britain's The Daily Mail, it's apparent that Agent Fields, an MI6 spy ordered to keep an eye on James Bond in the movie, is found dead in a scene that serves as a tribute to the 1964 Bond classic, Goldfinger.

In the following shot from Quantum of Solace, Gemma Arterton - who plays Agent Fields - is covered in oil and left draped over a bed.

"I couldn’t move. I couldn’t see, I couldn’t breathe or hear because it went in my ears," Arterton said of the scene. "It was unpleasant, but it’s something I’ll always remember and it will be an iconic part of the film."

Bond experts will remember a similar scene in Goldfinger, where the nemesis' accomplice is killed for sleeping with 007. She's asphyxiated after her entire body is covered in gold paint. To wit:

Daniel Craig Answers Quantum of Solace Questions

Daniel Craig was kind enough to sit down with ComingSoon.net last week and answer a series of questions from readers of that site.

Here's an excerpt from the interview, focusing on the iconic character Craig is taking on:

How do you feel James Bond evolves as a character in this movie?
I hope kind of well. There's no sort of clear answer. He's a spy. I think he hardens. I think is slightly distressing. We touch upon it in "Casino Royale" and I don't want to get all kind of deep and silly about it. But, he has his heart broken and suddenly you kind of see this broken man and I find that very interesting. But that can't be James Bond, because he can't be broken. He can't, because if he was broken it wouldn't work. It's finding that person that we can trust but not and that's something I wanted to make sure that we put into the first film that I don't want.

Shaken, Not Stirred

James Bond will always like his martinis, as this Quantum of Solace scene shows.

Someone just said to me, "well he's a bit like a bad guy" and I was like, "Yeah, well he kills people for a living." I mean where's the ambiguity? There's no ambiguity in that and it's up to the audience to decide whether or not they think it's right that he kills that person at that particular time. So the development of the character is one that we know this is what he does, this is how he gets it done. This is how he behaves in certain circumstances and hopefully he's open enough as a character for us to believe that when he hits something new he's discovering it as we're discovering it.

I'm very nervous about answering questions about kind of how I discover characters or where we take characters too because I think it's so much about what the audience perceives and how they believe it or how they don't believe it. I took something we did in "Casino Royale" and I've taken him on and he's moved on but you know he's still damaged and f*cked up and all those sort of things that you know he'd hopefully was in the first one.

And you know he kills people for a living. He must wake up in the night occasionally in a bit of cold sweat, but maybe we'll never see that, I dunno, who knows?
