Following Sean Penn's decision to drop out of The Three Stooges movie, the film has found a suitable replacement.

Paul Giamatti will take over as Larry, with Benicio Del Toro still attached to play Moe. However, Jim Carrey will not be playing Curly, as was previously reported.

MGM is hoping for a 2010 release for the big screen adaptation. It will be written and directed by the Farrelly Brothers.

Let the new Batman villain rumors start to fly again!

In a recent interview with MTV, Paul Giamatti said he'd welcome the chance to portray the Penguin in the eventual follow-up to The Dark Knight.

“That would be fantastic,” Giamatti said. “I’d love to do that.”

Giamatti added that he hadn’t heard about the rumors casting him as the Batman villain (last played by Danny DeVito), but said he’d be honored to don the rotund outfit.

“You know, I’m still stuck back in the ‘Batman’ TV show days,” said Giamatti. “That’s what I grew up watching, so I never followed the more current stuff. But The Penguin would be great to do.”

One of the more underrated actors of our generation turns 41 today. Happy birthday, Paul Giamatti!
