Nicolas Cage on Drugs!

Just watch this:

*Warning: Clip is NSFW*

To quell all your fears, no Cage isn't really smoking crack. Okay, he might be, but it's for a good reason.

Cage plays Detective Terrence McDonagh in Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant:Port of Call New Orleans. McDonagh is a high-functioning drug addict and compulsive gambler who is investigating the slaughter of five Senegalese immigrants in post-Katrina New Orleans.

As we saw in the age-restricted Bad Lieutenant clip, Cage's character is sleep-deprived and cracked-out. So it's no surprise that the film's marketing team would play that up in this viral video.

The video was linked to the website luckycrackpipe.com, which you must see to believe. Trust me.

Bad Lieutenant hits theaters this Friday.

Eva Mendes and Nicolas Cage: Photos from Bad Lieutenant

New Moon is sure to top the box office this weekend, but if you're looking for something different, something a little more hardcore, you may want to check out Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes in Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.

In Bad Lietuenant, Nic Cage plays a drug-addicted cop who is investigating the murders of five Senegalese immigrants, and when he's not sniffing out bad guys or rustling up narcotics, he's spending time with his prostitute lover, played by Eva Mendes.

Nic Cage Assaults an Old Lady!

We love Nicolas Cage. He's either doing something amazing or horrible, but either way, it's ridiculously entertaining. Just take a look at these Wicker Man scenes to see what we mean.

In Werner Herzog's newest film, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, Cage plays a sleep deprived, drug-addicted cop. As such, the role requires a level of lunacy only Cage can deliver.

And boy, does Cage deliver! Enter your age in the box to check out this clip from the film where Cage's Detective Terence McDonagh leans hard on a harmless wheelchair-bound senior citizen to get some crucial information about the case he's working:

If that's just a taste of what McDonagh is like, I can't wait to see what Cage does with the rest of the film. Add to that the fact that the sultry Eva Mendes plays Cage's prostitute lover, and you can consider my ticket purchased!

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans opens this Friday, November 20!

Reel Movie Trailers: Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans

In what may be the most bizarre movie to get a general release in America, Nicolas Cage plays a rogue detective in post-Katrina New Orleans who is as devoted to his job as he is to scoring drugs. Hot on the trail of the killer of five Senegalese immigrants, Cage must battle his inner demons while wading through the city's dark underbelly. Eva Mendes plays a prostitute Cage's detective is involved in a torrid relationship with, and Val Kilmer plays Cage's disaffected partner on the force. Also of note is a turn by rapper Xzibit.

Directed by legendary German filmmaker Werner Herzog, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call Los Angeles plumbs the depths of humanity's dark side while delivering some bizarre laughs. Check it all out in the trailer!

Bad Lieutenant opens in theaters November 20, 2009.

Nic Cage Road Rage!

No, we're not talking about Ghost Rider 2, but Nicholas Cage will be appearing in My Bloody Valentine 3-D director Patrick Lussier's new movie Drive Angry.

Lussier is writing and directing Angry, which will also be shot in 3-D. Nu-Image/Millennium Films has released these plot details:

Drive Angry stars Nicolas Cage as Milton, a hardened felon who has broken out for one last chance at redemption. Hell bent on stopping a vicious cult of fanatics who murdered his daughter, he has three days to stop them before they sacrifice his infant granddaughter beneath a full moon. Milton must use his anger to go beyond all human limits in order to save his last connection with humanity.

Shocktillyoudrop.com has posted a more in-depth synopsis that reveals Cage will be burning rubber in a black '71 Challenger and will also be on the run from a relentless killer known only as "The Accountant". Between this and Machete, it sounds like the grindhouse aesthetic is back in full force!

Nicolas Cage Rumored for Role in The Green Hornet

This is one movie rumor we hope does not come true.

Nicolas Cage is reportedly in negotiations to play the villain in next year's The Green Hornet, opposite Seth Rogen as the masked crime fighter.

This casting news follows talk that Cameron Diaz is in talks to portray Rogen's love interest in the film.

Roles will need to be filled soon, as producers are aiming for a fall start date. The studio must also replace Stephen Chow, who withdrew as the sidekick Kato earlier this month.

Not a great star for such a highly-anticipated comic book adaption. The Green Hornet is still planned for a summer 2010 release date.

Nicolas Cage Hopes to "Reconceive" Ghost Rider Sequel

Typically, when a movie is made into a sequel, it's because those involved with the original were actually proud of their accomplishment.

But that doesn't seem to be the case with Nicolas Cage and the rumored Ghost Rider sequel.

In an interview with MTV, the actor expressed his hopes for Ghost Rider 2, explaining that he hopes it's pretty much a different movie entirely than the first film.

"I would like to reconceive [the movie]," Cage said. "I would like to go in a whole other direction, and I think that's what they're talking about."

Hey, here's a better idea: just don't make the sequel!

Nicolas Cage Offers Himself as Next Batman Villain

Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin? Brilliant.

Johnny Depp as The Riddler? A stroke of genius.

Nicolas Cage remotely involved in the follow-up to The Dark Knight? Asinine.

The actor, who has put his career on cruise control by starring in mindless action fare since his Oscar win for Leaving Las Vegas, was asked by MTV if he'd appear in the next Batman movie.

"I would love to play a supervillain. I think that would be a whole lot of fun, yeah. If they call and invite me, I'd do it. Certainly," Cage said.

We shudder at the thought. How about you?

Nicolas Cage Reveals Hopes for Ghost Rider 2

Ghost Rider 2 is looking more and more like a strong possibility.

Star Nicolas Cage told MTV over the weekend that the search is on to find a screenwriter for the sort of-anticipated sequel.

The actor, who will reprise his role as Johnny Blaze for the movie, wants Ghost Rider 2 "to have that action horror element and go deeper into that if it were to happen and [it should] keep us asking questions. Keep it interesting on a philosophical level."

Nicolas Cage Fuels Ghost Rider Sequel Rumors

Yesterday, Nicolas Cage spoke on the strong likelihood of a National Treasure 3.

Now, in a new interview for his new action movie Bangkok Dangerous, the Oscar-winner talked about another possible film follow-up: Yes, we might be looking at Ghost Rider 2.

Here's what Cage had to say about a sequel to last year's Ghost Rider.

Yes, actually, had a nice meeting with the studio about 3-months ago, and we talked about going international with that character. Taking him into Europe, having him go on a motorcycle tour through Europe, and he's connected with the church, if you can believe that. So it sort of has elements to it that are very much in the zeitgeist, with "The Da Vinci Code" and things like that.
