Reel Movie Reviews: Body of Lies

Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe star in Body of Lies.

Is there anything else you need to know about this thriller?

Probably, but the point remains that these two stars carry a solid action movie. Audiences may have proven to be hesitant to pay money to see anything resembling a movie about war or terrorism; but the presence of DiCaprio and Crowe will change their minds in this instance.

Reel Movie Reviews: How to Lose Friends & Alienate People

How to Lose Friends & Alienate People stars Simon Pegg as a lovable jerk and Megan Fox as a gorgeous actress.

What else could movie goers hope for?

Those that read the book on which the comedy is based may have hoped for a more biting, satirical look at Hollywood. But viewers won't be disappointed by the entertainment value of this film.

Sophie Maes Goes for a Swim

Our How to Lose Friends & Alienate People review actually reveals that there's more to this movie than Megan Fox looking like Megan Fox.

Reel Movie Reviews: Rachel Getting Married

Anne Hathaway deserves all the praise she's receiving for Rachel Getting Married.

Don't worry if you catch yourself doing a double take and wondering: Is this really the same actress that starred in The Princess Diaries?!? The same, great reaction happened to us.

Reel Movie Reviews: Blindness

Blindness may not succeed on the deep, high-arching level that it aims for, but a great cast led by Julianne Moore make this a movie worth including on any list of upcoming worthwhile dramas.

The mere set-up - of a civilization that losts its sight, all except for one individual - is a hook that drew us in, while fans of director Fernando Meirelles' previous movie, City of God, won't be disappointed.

Reel Movie Reviews: Nights in Rodanthe

Anyone who buys a ticket for Nights in Rodanthe knows exactly what he or she (who are we kidding? It's obviously "she") is getting into.

There will be teary admissions. Emotions run amok. Some sort of forced, romantic setting. The movie is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, after all.

Adrienne and Paul

In our opinion - and in our complete Nights in Rodanthe review - there the setting was simply too phony to create any real emotion or sentimentality. But that may be precisely what many women out there are after.

Consider yourselves warned, fellas.

Reel Movie Reviews: Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

In Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Michael Cera and Kat Dennings spend a whirlwind of a night together.

These young stars play perfectly off one another, as Cera's typical awkward delivery is well-balanced by Dennings' free spirit of a character. The film isn't laugh-out-loud funny, but we dare you not to maintain a smile the entire time.

Reel Movie Reviews: Eagle Eye

Take away the political tone of Eagle Eye and you're left with a great thriller.

Sadly, we can't actually do that, leaving us with just an average thriller.

Reel Movie Reviews: My Best Friend's Girl

Here's our advice for anyone thinking of seeng My Best Friend's Girl. Instead, you should:

  • Watch an old stand-up routine by Dane Cook;
  • Rent How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, an enjoyable romantic comedy with Kate Hudson;
  • Laugh along with Jason Biggs and company in American Pie.

There's simply no reason to head to a theater and watch this recycled romantic comedy when all three of its stars peaked years ago; it's difficult to separate them from their aforementioned, more entertaining roles.

Reel Movie Reviews: Lakeview Terrace

Take Lakeview Terrace seriously at your own peril.

Those that watch this drama, hoping for a realistic portrayal of race relations in America, are much better off renting Crash instead. That Oscar winner truly captures the subtle racial tensions in the country.

But Lakeview Terrace does unleash Samuel L. Jackson in his gleeful, intense best. That's all we needed from the film.
