Despite the prospect of having millions of dollars thrown at them, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have decided to walk away from Transformers 3.

The screenwriting duo behind the first two Transformers films and J.J. Abrams' recent Star Trek reboot have confirmed that they will not be penning the planned third film, leaving Ehren Kruger, who also worked on Revenge of the Fallen, to go toe to toe with the boisterous Bay. 

Bay, who himself had recently told the press he desired a vacation from the world of Optimus Prime, has shown no signs of slowing down production of Transformers 3 since announcing the planned release date of July 1st, 2011 earlier this month. Bay has even invited Megan Fox to join along in the pyrotechnics again, as we reported earlier.

To be honest with you guys, I can't tell if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I've never really been a fan of anything Kurtzman and Orci have done, having loathed the writing in both Transformers films, and found the new Star Trek to be fun but flimsy at best. And as much as I'd like to champion any misfortune that befalls Mr. Bay (c'mon, it's fun!), I don't know if this is a boon or bane for him, let alone the film.

So far, Kruger's record with Revenge of the Fallen isn't looking so hot, but if the creative team has taken anything away from the negative critical reaction to their second outing, maybe they'll learn from their mistakes. Yeah, right. I just hope that Bay and Speilberg see more than dollar signs and finally give us a Transformers film that doesn't piss all over my childhood like Bumblebee on John Turturro.

Hey Michael, you mentioned back in June that you might be interested in making a film that doesn't have explosions in it. I know that film won't be Transformers 3, but I for one would really like to see you keep your word. Just because you hear "cha-ching!" when you make things go "ka-boom!" doesn't mean the rest of us aren't going "zzzzzzzzzzz".

Transformers 3 is a go!

Director Michael Bay took to his blog today and even announced the scheduled release date for the next film in this franchise. He wrote:

Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st, 2011. Not 2012. Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I’m flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

Bay also confirmed that actress Megan Fox, with whom he's reportedly been feuding, is welcome back into the fold, stating:

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture.

This just in: Megan Fox looks downright gorgeous in Jennifer's Body.

The actress is at the center of the Diablo Cody-directed movie, which premieres on September 18. It co-stars Amanda Seyfried, who is seen below with Fox.

The pair actually make out at one point, giving men yet another reason to line up for this quasi horror flick. We'll meet you at the theater...

There's not much to say about the latest Jennifer's Body movie poster, except:

We don't really care that Megan Fox truly puts the naughty in naughty school girl in this upcoming horror movie. If she wants to get possessed by a demon and devour us for lunch, that's totally fine.

As long as she wears this outfit while doing it...

While no photos from Jennifer's Body can top the Megan Fox topless set pic we uncovered a couple months ago, the following pair are pretty bloody cool.

Empire Magazine has scanned in a couple images from the Diablo Cody-penned vampire flick, which stars Fox as a possessed cheerleader who turns into a murderer of her classmates.

Amanda Seyfried, also pictured below, co-stars.

It's an especially good time to be Megan Fox.

The actress, who stars in this summer's guaranteed blockbuster, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is also headlining Diablo Cody's next project, Jennifer's Body.

Now, Fox has signed on to play a reluctant heroin smuggler in The Crossing, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The thriller centers on a couple that returns from a holiday in Mexico and gets carjacked by drug dealers. After they kidnap her husband, Fox's character must transport a shipment of narcotics across the border to free him.

Empire magazine has released a new photo of Megan Fox in Jennifer's Body.

The movie comes out on September 18.

In it, the gorgeous actress plays a cheerleader that's possessed by a demon and begins feeding off the boys in a small Minnesota farming town. Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Simmons, Adam Brody and J.K. Simmons also appear in the Diablo Cody-written thriller...

Megan Fox has signed on to portray an angel opposite Mickey Rourke in Passion Plays, an independent drama written and directed by Mitch Glazer.

Rourke - who is confirmed for Iron Man 2 - will play a down-on-his-luck trumpet player, while Fox will take on the role of an angel in 1950s Los Angeles.

Look for Rourke to find redemption in Fox after he tries to save her from a gangster. 

Megan Fox will be starring in this summer's biggest movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

New reports now state that the gorgeous actress is in final negotiations to star opposite Josh Brolin and John Malkovich in Jonah Hex, Warner Bros.' action-based Western, based on the famous DC Comics character.

In Jonah Hex, Fox will play Leila, a gun-wielding beauty and love interest of Hex (Brolin), a scarred bounty hunter tracking a voodoo practitioner.

It's seeming more and more likely that Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried will engage in a bit of girl-on-girl action as part of Jennifer's Body.

According to sources, actresses roll around in bed, topless and kissing.

"The two girls make out hardcore, rolling around in a bed," said an insider. "It was a really hot scene."

In Jennifer’s Body, Fox portrays a possessed cheerleader who goes on a killing spree against her male classmates. The movie is written by Juno scribe Diablo Cody and is due for a 2009 release.

"I eat and seduce everyone. There's a lot of kissing everyone - boys and girls. All kinds of craziness," Fox said of her (amazing!!!) role.
