Jessica Alba Rumored for Little Fockers

Little Fockers is about to add a big name.

The latest rumors state Jessica Alba is set to join the star-studded cast. If true, she'll join Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Owen Wilson and Barbra Streisand in the latest installment of the Meet the Parents franchise.

One can only hope Alba's presence in the flick is an improvement over her past comedic efforts, which include The Love Guru and Good Luck Chuck. Ouch.

Paul Weitz Might Direct Little Fockers

Paul Weitz, who has produced In Good Company, The Golden Compass and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, is in negotiations to direct Little Fockers.

The studio will begin production in July on the third installment of this comedic franchise.

Little Fockers Cast

Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner are set to reprise their roles from the last two films.

According to Variety, the studio has been looking for the right director to replace Jay Roach, who directed Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers.

Peter Segal to Direct Little Fockers

Peter Segal will be behind the camera for Little Fockers.

The Get Smart director will take the lead on the third installment of the Meet the Parents franchise. He replaces Jay Roach at the helm.

Two sets of parents

According to Variety, Segal was expecting to direct a Get Smart sequel, but scheduling problems for star Steve Carell have put that project on hold.

John Hamburg, writer and director of I Love You, Man, has already penned the script for Little Fockers. No release date has been set yet.

Little Fockers Writer: Full Cast Expected Back

A sequel to Meet the Fockers is definitely in the works.

While no release date has been announced for Little Fockers, John Hamburg told MTV that the full cast from the previous movie is expected to return.

“I think everybody is going to be back in some capacity,” said Hamburg, who is penning a rewrite of the script after Larry Stuckey wrote an earlier version.

Mother and son Focker

The full Meet the Fockers cast would include: Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Owen Wilson, Dustin Hoffman, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo and Barbara Streisand, who has not appeared in a movie since the 2004 film.

David Wain (Role Models) is being considered to direct.

Little Fockers Casting, Directing Update

The production of Little Fockers is coming along quickly.

Jay Roach, who directed the first two films in this Meet the Parents franchise, will not helm the third. Instead, producers are in discussion with a handful of top comedy directors (including Paul Weitz, David Wain, and Peyton Reed); they hope to close a deal imminently in order to begin shooting late this summer.

Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro and Owen Wilson are all likely on board for Little Fockers, which is expected to revolve around the children of Stiller and Teri Polo's characters.

Jay Roach Teases Austin Powers 4, Little Fockers

Jay Roach is a producer/director with a pair of comedic aces up your sleeve: Austin Powers 4 and Little Fockers. Will these follow-up films be made?

"I know [Mike Myers is] thinking about it," Roach said when asked about a new Austin Powers movie. "Which is something of a move in a direction."

As for rumors that Gisele Bundchen might end up in the film? Roach has a message for fans: slow down.

"There isn't a script like that or anything yet," Roach cautioned. "But it's something, that [is still alive]... he's got other stuff to do too, and that one's completely driven by Mike. If he wants to do it, I'll definitely want to be involved. But I don't know yet when that's gonna happen."

A similar theme accompanies a sequel to Meet the Fockers.

"The way we go after these is when we have a story that can make it earn itself back," Roach told MTV. "Sequels shouldn't always be automatic; there's a certain amount of pressure if something works, to have it work twice. But that doesn't always mean it will work three times."

As for the film, which would reportedly focus on parenthood and be called Little Fockers, the director continued:

"We're just trying to find the right story that makes it worth doing again. We always talk about ideas for it, and it would be a great group of people to get back together, for sure."

Little Fockers: Meet the Fockers Sequel

In 2004, the sequel to Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers came out and became the highest grossing comedy of all time.

So it's no shock Universal Studios has decided to create another sequel titled Little Fockers.

In Little Fockers, we'll meet the child that Pam was pregnant with in Meet the Fockers. He's supposedly quite the little Focker.

So far, Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Terio Polo, and Barbra Streisand have all signed up for the third movie. We're still crossing out fingers for Dustin Hoffman to reprise his role as the eccentric Bernie Focker.

Until we have more information, you can get your Meet the Parents fix with plenty of Meet the Parents quotes as well as Meet the Fockers quotes.
