Jennifer Aniston won't simply be starring in The Goree Girls, a drama focused on a set of female prisoners that form a popular radio country-and-western band in the 1940s.

She'll be showing off her pipes in the film!

"She can sing," said Michael Sucsy, the movie's director "And she's going to learn how to play the Dobro [guitar]."

Sucsy told E! News that Aniston doesn't need to be perfect because the girls themselves weren't perfect, either.

"These women learned to harmonize and they learned to play instruments. They weren't these amazing, accomplished singers who banded together. That's what's interesting about it."

No release date has been set yet for The Goree Girls.

Jennifer Aniston will soon be singing a different tune than usual.

The actress, known for roles in romantic comedies, has signed on for Goree Girls. The movie is based on the Goree All Girl String Band, a country music group that starred on a 1940s' radio show... despite the fact that its members were all inmates at a Texas prison.

Comprised of female felons serving time for robbery, murder and cattle rustling, the band was featured in a 2003 article in Texas Monthly.

Jennifer Aniston is following the lead of her former co-star.

In the fall, Courteney Cox will play an older woman seeking a younger mate in the ABC sitcom, Cougar Town.

Meanwhile, Variety reports that Aniston will headline Pumas, a movie that centers on a pair of thirtysomething women who make a habit of romancing men a decade their junior.

According to Variety, the two main character "take a French skiing vacation that challenges their romantic expectations."

Anison first mentioned the project in December's Vogue. She described the project it a "female Wedding Crashers."

Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman are ready to baste!

The stars signed on to lead the fertility-themed comedy The Baster.

The movie will center on a neurotic and insecure man (Bateman) who finds out his best friend (Aniston) wants to have a child through artificial insemination. From there, replaces her donor's semen with his own. That sounds potentially awkward and dangerous.

Can you talk about the challenges of working with a dog and did having dogs help you in the process?
Well, I think it helped only because I wasn't afraid of dogs but honestly he was so easy to work with. I would say the younger Marleys were a little bit more challenging for the trainers. We had a ball, we never had a hard time.

Was there any scene that was difficult or took a long time to get?
The scene where we were taking him to get neutered. That was definitely a challenging scene in the car 'cause you also have Matilda in the back seat, the trainer who's fantastic. It was just a lot of action for the dog.
