In a recent interview, director Jon Favreau opened up about the upcoming Iron Man movie. Sort of.
Favreau does hint that an Iron Man commercial will air during the Super Bowl, but he's mum on most other rumors/spoilers. Here are a pair of excerpts from the conversation:
MTV: Where are you on Iron Man today?
Favreau: There's a lot of effects work that's going to be happening in the next six months. The movie is pretty much going to be everything that it's going to be by the end of January. Because so much of it is animated and CGI you have to turn it over and let those people do their work on it. So we'll be done in about a month with all the big creative decisions. And then the rest of it becomes about scoring and sound design.
MTV: How about [the rumor of] Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury?
Favreau: That's another interesting question. Right now the only thing that's saving me is the white noise out there. I don't like lying to the fans, but that doesn't mean I have to spill all the secrets either.

Forget who will be playing in Super Bowl XLII (airing February 3 on FOX). Most people just wanna know one thing:
What commercials will be showing?
Specifically, movie goers are curious about the ads for major films they'll see for the first time during the big game. While some studios have opted to buy ads during the Super Bowl's pre- or post-shows, as Paramount is doing with the comedy Drillbit Taylor (pictured), others will showcase features during breaks in the action.
Variety reports that commercials for Iron Man and Will Smith's action adventure Hancock will be aired at some point during the game. Also, look for Adam Sandler comedy Don't Mess With the Zohan, as well as Will Ferrell's Semi-Pro.
Disney said it was still considering which movies to offer, though Pixar's WALLâ¢E is a contender, as is The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
As we get closer and closer to Iron Man, no doubt we'll find the movie on everything from action figures to lunch boxes.
With that in mind, here's a look at the first marketing efforts for the movie: the Iron Man video game:
People love John Rambo and all, but we know what movie they're truly clamoring for photo from:
Iron Man.
With that in mind, here are two more shots from the film that opens on May 2, 2008:
As we count down the days until summer 2008 and the release of Iron Man, we can at least find comfort in a few photos from the movie recently released on the film's official website.
Check out the pair below, as Tony Stark is seen is in the process of becoming Iron Man:
Tony Stark before...
... Tony Stark after.
We've already shown you the U.S. movie trailer for Iron Man.
Now, here's the international preview for what's probably the most anticipated film of 2008. It features Gwyneth Paltrow more than the one currently playing in the States...
It may be the most respected film of 2008.

Iron Man director Jon Favreau has announced the end of principal photography on his MySpace group, and indirectly confirmed rumors that Hilary Swank will have a cameo in the film:
Principal photography ended with a huge bang as we filmed the final scenes of Iron Man in Caesar's Palace. As many of you already know, gambling is a casino's top priority. A production can not interfere with their cash cow. As a result, movies must shoot during the dead hours, no matter if it's Swingers or Rain Man.
We were given a window of midnight to one the next afternoon to do all of our work. Part of our strategy to prepare for these ungodly hours was to stay up as late as possible the night before and sleep as late as possible. I did half the plan. The wrong half. I stayed out until 7AM and then woke up four hours later. After motoring through the delerium of a sleepless shooting marathon, I am proud to report that we have handily completed our movie on time and on budget. What a great way to end.
I would also like to thank Ceasars for their hospitality, generosity, and Swank accommodations.
Ah, we get it. Swank accommodations. This guy's good.
