Cloris Leachman to Appear in Inglorious Basterds

Here's a bit of casting news we didn't see coming:

Cloris Leachman - currently seen moving, shaking and making inappropriate jokes on Dancing with the Stars - will appear in a cameo role in Inglourious Basterds. The 82-year old actress will show up in Quentin Tarantino's next film, alongside Brad Pitt, Mike Myers and Eli Roth.

Cloris Leachman

Inglorious Basterds tells the tale of American Lt. Aldo Raine (Pitt). He assembles a bevy of Jewish soldiers to take out Nazis during World War II. Leachman will reportedly portray Mrs. Himmelstein, an elderly Jewish woman who inspires Roth's character to seek vengeance.

Brad Pitt is an Inglorious Basterd

Brad Pitt is at the center of Quentin Tarantino's next movie, Inglorious Basterds. The actor takes on the role of Aldo Raine.

Aldo Raine

Here’s what Tarantino.info had to say about the character:

“Let me introduce you to the principal Basterd, the head honcho Basterd, most Inglourious of all Basterds, Lt. Aldo Raine. We’ve got a first look at Brad Pitt in full resistance fighter gear for you… This is a hillbilly straight from the mountains of Tennessee, a man with a scar around his neck that “will never once be mentioned,” this is Brad Pitt in one hundred percent Quentin Tarantino Nazi-scalping business.”

Michael Fassbender Interview on Inglorious Basterds

Michael Fassbender may be best known to audiences for his role in 300 as Stelios, but this year things are changing for the German actor. Fassbender's role in Hunger made quite the impression at Cannes and his leading role in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds is set to be his biggest role yet. IGN was lucky enough to sit down with this 31-year-old actor. Here's a quick excerpt:

IGN: How was it meeting Tarantino for the first time?
Fassbender: It was amazing, fantastic. He's a film enthusiast. I love that you can mention any film to him, and he doesn't only know the f**king film, he'll quote sections of the film to you. I love that. I'm a film geek, too.

IGN: Who do you play?
Fassbender: I play Hicox, Lt. Hicox, who is an English guy posing as a German soldier.

IGN: What happens to him?
Fassbender: I can't tell you that, Jesus Christ.
