Queen Latifah Confirms Plans for Hairspray Sequel
If Queen Latifah is to believed, her character of Motormouth Maybelle will be back for an eventual Hairspray sequel.
“I got an e-mail from people connected to the last movie,” the Oscar-nominated actress told MTV. “It said: ‘Keep your ears peeled.’”
As for the plot of a follow-up to Hairspray? The star isn't clear on that yet.
“I don’t know what he’s writing or what the concept is,” said Latifah, likely referring to director Adam Shankman. “But I’m glad they’re doing another Hairspray... It should be lots of fun."
