Oldman is rumored to have been spotted on the set of the sequel this week, as the website reports:

"We don't have any character confirmation, but we are hearing he could possibly be Howard Stark, father to Tony, previously rumored to be played by Tim Robbins. But that role is also rumored to be the one filled by Mad Men's John Slattery."

Yesterday, the same source confirmed that Garry Shandling had landed a role in Iron Man 2.

Gary Oldman to Co-Star in Book of Eli

Gary Oldman has signed on to co-star with Denzel Washington in Book of Eli, a post-apocalyptic action film scheduled for a January 15, 2010 release.

The movie focuses on a lone warrior (Washington) who must fight to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption. Oldman - most recently seen as Commissioner Gordan in The Dark Knight - will portray the despot of a small makeshift town who's determined to take possession of the book Eli is guarding.

Filming begins in February in New Mexico.
