Mark: Don't put me in this position where I have to f**k my way out of a corner!
Leo: He'll do it too. I've seen him. | permalink
George Simmons: Does your act just design to make sure no girl will ever sleep with you? | permalink
Mark: When my grandfather died, there was one candle next to his bed. And the candle started flickering. We all thought it was him going to Heaven, you know?
Leo: You don't pass through fire to get to Heaven. I think he went to Hell. | permalink
George Simmons: So, Ira Wright? That's not your real name. You're hiding some Judaism.
Ira Wright: I don't think I can hide that. My face is circumcised. | permalink
Dr. Lars: It's too early to know who's winning the fight: the medicine or the disease.
George Simmons: Did anybody ever tell you, you have a very scary accent?
Dr. Lars: You are a very funny man. I enjoy your movies.
George Simmons: And I enjoy all of your movies.
Dr. Lars: [surprised] Which movies?

Jonah Hill Talks Funny People, Get Him to the Greek

We dare you to look at Jonah Hill and not crack up. The actor is hilarious.

In a new interview, Hill dishes on a pair of upcoming movies: Funny People and Get Him to the Greek. Here are a pair of excerpts from it:

On doing stand-up comedy in Funny People: It was pretty frightening. [Seth Rogen and Adam Sandler] had years of stand-up experience. Honestly, the first show went remarkably well. We have it on film. From there on, it went kind of downhill… It’s almost like, when someone plays poker for the first time, they might be a professional poker player out of ignorance, just accidentally winning. That was how it felt in my first stand-up appearance.

On teaming with Russell Brand for Get Him to the Greek:  I didn’t want to make a spinoff movie because I really like the thought of trying to be completely original with every movie you make. Nick obviously saw something funny in the dynamic between myself and Russell and said, “Why don’t we make Russell a rock star and you a music executive and you’re both different people?”

But then it felt weird for Russell to play a different rock star, so we kept him as [Aldous Snow]. I play a different character. What I liked about him was that he became the most normal and together guy I’ve ever played in a movie. It’s been an incredible experience. I think the movie could possibly be one of the funniest I’ve ever done.

Reel Movie Reviews: Funny People

Funny People marks Judd Apatow's third time behind the camera.

And it's easily his best, most well-rounded film.

Giving the performance of his life, Adam Sandler anchors the movie, which mixes messages about life and death with good ol' Apatow bathroom humor. Read our full Funny People review for more.

Judd Apatow's upcoming comedy, Funny People, stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann and Eric Bana.

The main actors will be joined by a number of impressive guest stars, including: Jonah Hill, Jason Schwartzman, Norm MacDonald, Sarah Silverman, Aziz Ansari, RZA, Dave Attell.

But a certain Detroit rapper stands out from the rest: indeed, Eminem has a cameo in the movie, which opens on July 31.

We don't know what his role will be, but MTV has released a photo of Eminem's tableside chat with Sandler’s character, a dying stand-up comedian named George Simmons. Check it out below:

The Funny People Movie Trailer

Though it's written and directed by Judd Apatow, Funny People isn't this filmmaker's typical, lewd comedy.

It stars Adam Sandler as a dying comedian. He reasseses his life and strikes up a friendship with a fellow performer, played by Seth Rogen.

The comedy opens on July 31. Check out its official trailer below;

Funny People Interview with Seth Rogen

MTV got a chance to do a short interview with Seth Rogen about his upcoming Judd Apatow flick, Funny People, at Comic-Con.  Again, for those of you out of the know, Funny People is Judd Apatow's take on the stand-up comedy world.  Below is an excerpt from the interview:

MTV: [Which jokes have made the cut?]
Rogen: “I bailed on ‘The Hills’ bit. I started doing stand-up and I’ve done it a few times and I don’t have any Hills jokes. I feel upset about that. I realized you don’t have to be smart to write a joke making fun of ‘The Hills.’ ‘The Hills’ makes fun of itself.”

MTV: [What will you fill the holes with?]
Rogen: “A MUCH more mature path.  Masturbation and testacles and things of that nature. I’m really branching. It’s very elevated comedy.”

MTV: [Will we see Judd Apatow doing stand-up comedy?]
Rogen “I don’t think so.  It could be funny to see him doing stand-up, but we didn’t have any plans for that.”

Judd Apatow Likes Funny People

According to Variety, Judd Apatow (pictured) has added Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill to his previously-announced Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann and Eric Bana comedy.

Aptly, the film is called Funny People.

The filmmaker, who last wrote and directed Knocked Up, hasn't commented on the plot of the movie, as he's only said it takes place in the world of standup comedy and the focus is on a comedian who has a near-death experience.
