Eva Mendes and Nicolas Cage: Photos from Bad Lieutenant

New Moon is sure to top the box office this weekend, but if you're looking for something different, something a little more hardcore, you may want to check out Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes in Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.

In Bad Lietuenant, Nic Cage plays a drug-addicted cop who is investigating the murders of five Senegalese immigrants, and when he's not sniffing out bad guys or rustling up narcotics, he's spending time with his prostitute lover, played by Eva Mendes.

Reel Movie Trailers: Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans

In what may be the most bizarre movie to get a general release in America, Nicolas Cage plays a rogue detective in post-Katrina New Orleans who is as devoted to his job as he is to scoring drugs. Hot on the trail of the killer of five Senegalese immigrants, Cage must battle his inner demons while wading through the city's dark underbelly. Eva Mendes plays a prostitute Cage's detective is involved in a torrid relationship with, and Val Kilmer plays Cage's disaffected partner on the force. Also of note is a turn by rapper Xzibit.

Directed by legendary German filmmaker Werner Herzog, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call Los Angeles plumbs the depths of humanity's dark side while delivering some bizarre laughs. Check it all out in the trailer!

Bad Lieutenant opens in theaters November 20, 2009.

Eva Mendes Shrugs Off Ghost Rider 2 Talk

A couple weeks ago, Nicolas Cage made it clear that Ghost Rider 2 was pretty much confirmed.

But Eva Mendes told MTV that she's unlikely to participate in any sequel.

“No, I think Ghost Rider had its moment,” Mendes said. “I don’t know about a sequel, but I don’t think it needs one.”

This stance doesn't mean the actress didn't enjoy the original, she added.

“I think it was a great experience, and I was so proud of it. It was fun…but I think it’s done. But look, hey, if it’s Nicolas Cage again - I’ll do anything with him.”
