Slew of Stars Ready for Date Night

Trust us, the pairing of Steve Carell and Tina Fey in Date Night was more than enough to guarantee we'd be purchasing tickets to this upcoming movie.

But Mark Wahlberg and James Franco are leading the pack of stars that have attached their names to the romantic comedy.

According to Variety, Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester, rapper Common, Oscar-nominee Taraji P. Henson and Saturday Night Live actress Kristen Wiig will round out the hilarious cast.

The comedy centers on a married couple, played by the The Office and 30 Rock stars, whose dinner-and-a-movie date night goes horribly wrong.

Wahlberg will portray a security guard that flirts with Fey; while Franco will take on the role of dim-witted criminal.

Steve Carell Dishes on Date Night

We can hardly believe it, but The Office really is set to collide with 30 Rock on the big screen.

Steve Carell and Tina Fey are set to co-star in the upcoming movie Date Night, a comedy based around a romantic evening gone horrible wrong. The actor spoke to USA Today about it this week.

"It goes crazy. Everything that can possibly go wrong goes wrong, and they're caught up in a web of malice and intrigue," Carell told the newspaper.

Very Funny

The film begins shooting in a few weeks, as it stars a comedy dream team that has never done a movie together. Carrell and Fey play a married couple that goes to a trendy Manhattan bistro for some couple bonding time, when things go horribly awry thanks to a case of mistaken identity.

"I'm a huge fan and have known her for some time, so it's great that we finally get to do something," Carell said.

The starting production date is unclear at the moment, as the film must be scheduled around Carell's sitcom The Office and Fey's 30 Rock.

Levy is currently shooting Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, while Carell recently starred in Get Smart and Fey appeared in Baby Mama.
