Pacific Coast News has released new photos of Christina Aguilera on the set of her new film, Burlesque! Aguilera plays an ambitious small-town girl with a big voice who finds success in a neo-burlesque club reminiscent of the nightclub in Bob Fosse's "Cabaret."

The Los Angeles-based production also stars Cher, Kristen Bell, Stanley Tucci, Cam Gigandet, Julianne Hough, Alan Cumming and Eric Dane.

Burlesque opens November 24, 2010.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall's Kristen Bell joins the cast of Screen Gems' musical drama Burlesque, The Hollywood Reporter tells us.

Bell will star opposite Christina Aguilera, who plays an ambitious small-town girl with a big-town voice who finds love and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club. Bell's character is Nikki, the loose-cannon lead dancer and main attraction at the club who spirals out of control when Aguilera's character suddenly gets the spotlight.

Is it just me or is that the plot of EVERY female-driven musical drama? Well, those movies don't have Cher or Stanley Tucci, who will both lend their talents to Burlesque. Cher will pay the nightclub owner and Tucci is to be the man who helps turn Aguilera from bumpkin to bombshell.

Shooting is scheduled to begin November 9th, with a release date targeted for Thanskgiving of 2010.

After nearly a decade, Cher returns to the big screen in a star role.  No, we're not counting her cameo in the 2003 disastrous Stuck on You.

Cher will be joining alongside Christina Aguilera in the contemporary musical, Burlesque.

Aguilera will play an ambitious small-town Iowa girl who comes to work in a modern burlesque home on Sunset Boulevard that's run by Tess (Cher), a former dancer struggling to keep the club open.

Cher will sing on screen in the musical.  Production begins in November.
