Angelina Jolie on the Salt Poster

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, which is probably why the poster for Salt, a new thriller featuring Angelina Jolie, is so simple. All that is needed to drum up interest is the stark image of Angelina in character as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent accused of being a spy for Russia.

The thriller, directed by Philip Noyce, sends Jolie on the run from authorities to try to clear her name, but the deeper they dig, the more they find themselves repeating the tagline on the poster: "Who is Salt?"

Salt is slated for a July 23, 2010 release.

Angelina Jolie Considers Gucci Role

Ridley Scott is gearing up to shoot another true life epic along the lines of American Gangster, this time focusing on the sordid world of the... fashion industry?

That's right, Scott is planning to get started on Gucci, which will chronicle the wild and glamorous story of the Gucci family in the 1970s and '80s, when its 153 shops moved $500 million in product annually. And he's gunning to get Angelina Jolie to star in it.

Jolie is in talks to play Patrizia Reggiano, who was sentenced to 29 years in jail for plotting the murder of her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci. Gucci was gunned down in front of his Milan apartment in 1995, shortly before realizing his greatest success -- a daring fashion show debuting the clothes of newcomer Tom Ford.]

Having just signed on to do The Tourist, Miss Jolie has a quite a bit on her plate for next year.

20th Century Fox is planning a 2010 start for the film, and Scott has reportedly reached out to Leonardo DiCaprio to play Maurizio Gucci, but as of yet, he hasn't signed on.

Angelina Jolie Tapped to be a Tourist

Hollywood's favorie femme fatale Angelina Jolie has signed on to play an Interpol agent in the Spyglass thriller The Tourist.

After much consternation, the project is finally finding some much needed direction. The project, which is a remake of the 2005 French film Anthony Zimmer, was originally a Tom Cruise vehicle that would have co-starred Charlize Theron. However, Cruise pulled out to pursue Knight & Day, and Terminator Salvation's Sam Worthington snagged his spot.

"The project languished, however, until Spyglass drew interest from Jolie," reports Variety. Spyglass is working to secure The Lives of Others director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck with Jolie's participation.

In The Tourist, Jolie's character apparently "draws an unwitting American tourist into her attempt to locate a criminal who was once her lover."

If all goes according to plan, we should see The Tourist in theaters sometime in 2011.

Angelina Jolie: Wanted for Wanted Sequel

There will be a Wanted sequel. There's no doubt about it.

But will Angelina Jolie return for the follow-up in the role of Fox? It sounds that way, despite one clear obstacle.

"If you remember from the first film... She was kind of... dead," director Timur Bekmambetov told MTV. "[But] we have a recovery room with the baths of wax. We know how to do this, but it's still tough to do, because the bullet is inside her head."

Bekmambetov added that "there has to be a reason for her to come back... and we know the reason. I think we found the reason for her to come back."

Even if Jolie doesn't return, the Wanted sequel is a go.

The director said: "I think we will make the movie this winter."

Movie Rumor of the Day: Angelina Jolie Asks Porn Star for Catwoman Advice

A new rumor is igniting talk that Angelina Jolie could portray the Batman villain in the eventual sequel to The Dark Knight.

According to The New York Post's gossip section, Page Six, the actress has been asking for advice on taking the role of Catwoman from an unlikely source: adult film star Tera Patrick.

Can you picture Angelina Jolie as Catwoman?

Already with the approval of Julie Newmar, who played the original feline villain in the 1960s Batman TV series, Jolie has been discussing the possible portrayal of the Catwoman Patrick, who is a huge fan of the role.

"They are friends and keep in touch via e-mail. She and Angie have a girl-talk thing going," said a source of the newspaper. "After seeing reports that she'll land the lead role, Jolie asked Patrick what she thought. Tera had such insights into the role that Jolie cracked, 'You should do it!'

Hmmm, Tara Patrick as Catwoman? That might be a step down from Heath Ledger as The Joker.

Movie Critic: Angelina Jolie is a Very Wanted Woman

Manohla Dargis, a New York Times film critic who lambasted the Sex and the City movie, has nothing but good things to say about Angelina Jolie in the new action thriller Wanted.

"Ms. Jolie has been perfectly cast as a super-scary, seemingly amoral assassin named (wait for it) Fox," Manohla Dargis writes. "Few American actresses, especially those with such pin-skinny arms, can make beating a guy to the ground look so easy and, yeah, man, like fun."

What a Fox!

Earlier today, we published another movie critic's glowing praise for Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight.
