Old Murdoch Gets New Cameo in A-Team!

After seeing the first photo of the new A-team, we knew that Joe Carnahan was sticking close to the original tv series for his reboot. But what we all wanted to know was whether or not we'd get to actually see some of our favorite faces from the 80's in there.

Well, the Official Dwight Schultz Fansite has just confirmed that the man who played the original  Mad Dog Murcdoch will be making a cameo in the new film!

Murdoch: Old Vs. New

"We are pleased to inform you all that Dwight has actually already been working in Vancouver, where he has played a cameo role in The A-Team movie. Sharlto Copley, the South African actor who plays Murdock, is according to Dwight: 'brilliant beyond words'. Dwight has seen his screen test and he stated: that honestly, if Sharlto is given an opportunity to do what I saw in that test, "Murdock" will be better than ever!' Sharlto has been very kind to him on the set and Dwight must say that he has been treated very well."

While Dwight Schultz isn't usually the first guy you think of when you think A-Team, his cameo sets an excellent precedent. Maybe we'll get an appearance from Mr. T as well...

The A-Team storms into theaters on June 11, 2010.

First Official Look at Joe Carnahan's A-Team!

Only a day after we got our first look at Rampage Jackson as B.A. Baracus, 20th Century Fox has released a photo of the new four-man wrecking crew!

From left to right: Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as Sgt. "B.A." Baracus, Sharlto Copley as Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock, and Liam Neeson as John "Hannibal" Smith.

Not pictured is Jessica Biel, but we've already caught a glimpse of her on set. You can click on the photo to see a larger version.

What really excites me about this picture is not just the fact that Liam Neeson looks like the spitting image of George Peppard, but if you look closely at the smoke behind Bradley Cooper, you'll notice something very familiar: B.A. Baracus' trademark black van! That's right, it looks like they're keeping the van from the original series, and not updating it to something lame and modern like a Suburban or an Escalade. Thank you Joe Carnahan!

The A-Team is scheduled to blast into your local theater on June 11, 2010.

First Glimpse of the A-Team's New Mr. T!

We know what all of you were thinking when you heard about the new A-Team movie: Who could possibly fill Mr. T's shoes as the crabby, macho, fool-pitying B.A. Baracus?

Then we heard it was going to be Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who beat out Common for the role. Really? This was down to a mixed martial artist and a rapper, neither really well known for their acting talents? We thought B.A. deserved better than that. Even Robert Downey Jr. in black face sounded better.

But then we saw this video:

Most of the video consists of Entertainment Tonight interviewing Bradley Cooper (perfectly cast as Faceman, by the way) and the gorgeous Jessica Biel (playing an Army general??). But they also get a few words in with Rampage, and even a quick glimpse at the new B.A. yelling at the new Murdock (District 9's Sharlto Copley).

Well, after seeing that little snippet of on-set action, as brief as it was, makes us feel a whole lot better about this new A-Team movie. While we would have preferred Mr. T, because well, Mr. T. basically is B.A. Baracus in real life, it looks like Joe Carnahan and Rampage Jackson have done a good job keeping the tone and spirit of the original character alive.

A-Team is set to roll into theaters June 11, 2010.

Jessica Biel Dishes Dirt on A-Team

Previously, we posted some pictures of Miss Biel on the set of the new A-Team movie, but in a recent interview, she's elaborated on what's in store for us.

Biel recently sat down with MTV News to talk a little bit about the film, revealing that the project will embody a more serious tone than the classic 80's tv show on which it is based.

"I think it will be a little bit similar here and there but we really have our own tone going on," she said. "It’s a little bit less campy than the actual show and a little bit more serious action and fighting sequences but still with lots of humor. Lots and lots of humor."

Asked if there would be any familiar faces from the 80's making an appearance, she had this to say:

"I don’t know about [possible cameos] actually. Up to my knowledge at this point no," she said, adding that she'd like to see Mr. T play some kind of role. "That would be great. I can't imagine that people wouldn’t want to see him. When you think of A-Team you think of Mr. T, so that'd be great. I don’t know about it though."

And there are new details about her character, Carissa Sosa, who was previously reported to be an Army General:

"She works for the Department of Defense, so she's sort of after the A-Team throughout the whole movie," she said. "She had a previous relationship connection with one of the members of the A-Team, but not presently at the moment is their particular love interest."

The A-Team movie is set to hit theaters June 11, 2010.

Jessica Biel Looks Hot and Sleuthy in New A-Team

Let's take a second and talk about this new A-Team movie.

I grew up with the A-Team. Their images were emblazoned on my lunchbox when I was a kid. I used to steal my dad's tan Members Only jacket and fancy cigars to pretend I was Hannibal Smith.  I have a B.A. Baracus sound board app on my iPhone. They're like family to me.

So, when I heard the kitschy 80's TV show was being remade into a glossy, glitzy, major motion picture, I immediately groaned in disapproval.

But then I heard Joe Carnahan was making it, and I said, "A-Team meets Smokin' Aces? Best movie ever!" Haha, no, I didn't really say that, but I trust Joe Carnahan to give us a slick, sexy, stylish, and yes, gritty interpretation of my favorite Stephen J. Cannell creation.

The cast list alone tells us that Carnahan's modern update will definitely honor the memory of the 80's favorite, with Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Liam Neeson as John "Hannibal" Smith, District 9's Sharlto Copley as Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock, and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as Sgt. "B.A." Baracus.

All seem to be perfect picks when you look at the original characters, especially Bradley Cooper standing in for Dirk Benedict, but Liam Neeson replacing George Peppard suggests the film will have an edge, which is exactly what we're expecting from Carnahan.

Jessica Biel is reportedly playing an Army general who is an ex-love of Bradley Cooper's Faceman, and is now in hot pursuit of the team.

Okay, hold the phone... Jessica Biel as an Army general? Really? That's about as believable as Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist. Tell me Jessica is a hot undercover CIA agent and I'll swallow that hook, line and sinker, but Army general? I don't know, Joe. Please don't insult us by making another run-of-the-mill Hollywood remake. Treat our A-Team right.

Anyway, here are some pics that our friends at comingsoon.net dug up of Miss Biel in a stealthy leather trench coat:

Jessica is clearly as hot as ever, but what's the deal with the trench coat? Is she trying to be incognito? If so, her overwhelming hotness and sexy exposed legs are making sure any covertness is completely ruined. Hell, even the coat looks sexy!

Mr. Carnahan, please don't muck this one up. I'll give you a free pass today, but it's just because your Army general makes me horny. I guess we'll have to wait until June of 2010 for a final verdict on the film. Until then, pity the fool!
