Steve Coogan was born in Manchester, England.

The third of six children, Coogan's versatile character portrayals, range of voices and gift for mimicry have earned him comparisons with the late, great Peter Sellers. He has worked on BBC radio and formerly Trained as an actor at Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre.
