Born in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico, Salma Hayek started off her acting career in Mexico at 23, landing the title role in Teresa in 1989. Hayken moved in Los Angeles in 1991 to persue an acting career in Hollywood, and got her big break thanks to director Robert Rodriguez in the 1995 Desperado. From then on Hayek's career was at full speed, landing role s in From Dusk Till Down, Fools Rush In, Dogma, Wild Wild West, Traffic, Once a Time in Mexico, and Bandidas.
