Pierce Brosnan was born in Castletown, Co. Meath in Ireland and became well known to American audiences with his leading role in the series Remington Steele in 1982. However, Brosnan became a superstar when he became the next Bond in 1995's GoldenEye. Brosnan has since had a very successful movie career.
