Michael J. Fox

Bio

Michael J. Fox was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and stasrted his acting career as Alex P. Keaton on the television show, Family Ties.  However, he hit stardom in 1985 when he played Marty McFly in Back to the Future.

Shortly after, Fox went on to have a very successful film career starring in Teen Wolf, The Secret of My Success, two Back to the Future sequels, Doc Hollywood, The Hard Way, For Love or Money, and Life With Mikey.  Fox also returned to television with a starring role in Spin City.

However, Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991, and went public with his condition in 1998.  As a result of his disease, he retired from full-time acting in 2000.  He has since had small cameos and still does voice work.
