Bio
Judd Apatow was born in Syosset, New York and started his career off doing stand-up at the age of seventeen while still in high school. After graduating high school, he moved to Los Angeles and studied screenwriting at the University of Southern California.
Apatow soon found success behind the scenes as a producer for The Ben Stiller Show and writer and producer for The Larry Sanders Show. On the big screen, Apatow hoped to have his big break with the big budget The Cable Guy in 1996, which he re-wrote and produced.
Apatow saw a cult following with his critically acclaimed, yet short-lived television shows Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared.
However, mainstream success would come when he produced the hit Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy starring Will Ferrell. Afterwards, the rest is history with The 40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Talladega Nights, and Superbad going on to be huge hits.
Apatow and company continue to pump out funny movies like it's their job. Oh wait...
