Producer Confirms Fourth Jason Bourne Movie

The rumors are true: another Jason Bourne film will soon be added to the franchise.

Producer Frank Marshall told reporters in Philadelphia on Tuesday that he's developing another Bourne vehicle for Matt Damon. The actor has already agreed to star in it, pending script approval.

"I am moving it forward," Marshall said of the Bourne franchise. "We'd like to shoot next year, but it's trying to get everyone's schedules in the right place and getting the script right. We have done pretty well with these scripts that are loosely put together, but I would like the script to be really solid this time before we go forward, so we are spending a lot of time on story."

But the host of G4's daily Attack of the Show is hoping to change that.

She's already filmed a role for Broken Lizard's next movie, The Slammin' Salmon.

Now, Variety reports that Munn will appear in a couple of highly-anticipated films: Iron Man 2 and Date Night. No word yet on the characters Munn will portray in the summer blockbuster and/or upcoming comedy.

Jackson Rathbone: Feeling New Moon Pressure

Jackson Rathbone portrays vampire Jasper Hale in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

In a recent conference call, he told reporters that he and the cast of the sequel are feeling the weight of the franchise's popularity more.

"We have a bigger budget, and we have a little bit more pressure to keep that [indie] feeling going," Rathbone said. "But the nice thing is that we are delving more into the story now of New Moon. But I will say that Twilight is my favorite, because it takes you into this realm, from reality into this fantasy reality, and it makes that fantasy more real. As the films progress, you get deeper into the mythical world that we are establishing, with the werewolves and what the actual vampire society and legacy is with the Volturi."

As for the scene in the New Moon trailer, where Jasper gets thrown into a piano:

"I was flying and got to do some stunts on that, and that's only the beginning of it. They didn't show the entire [scene]. It's going to be a really action-packed movie. And then you have the other side of the love story. It has a lot of elements that I think the fans have been waiting to sink their teeth into."

Star Trek Sequel Talk Heats Up

With a Star Trek sequel already planned for 2011, fans are already buzzing about what the follow-up to this summer's hit could be focused on.

According to screenwriter Roberto Orci, the answer is: anything.

"I think the major lesson we learned is that fans were willing to accept differences and surprises, provided that they were somehow echoes or inspired by canon," Orci said to SCI FI Wire "We still have to be true to Star Trek the next time around, but we've also been blessed with being able to be unpredictable. And that doesn't mean we can just be shocking for no good reason and just throw everything away. It still has to echo everything that Star Trek has been."

It may change any second, but at the moment, the writers don't have a story or a premise in mind for a sequel.

"We have agreed to write another one," Orci said. "We're going to start thinking about it any second now. But we're still just having a mental sorbet before we jump back in. And, you know, just seeing all the reactions to the movie. We want to make sure we take it all in and really figure out what worked and what didn't and proceed from there. But now that we have... an open canvas... anything can happen."

Sean Penn Backs Out of Two Major Films

Sean Penn has won his Oscar and after Milk is taking a break to spend a little time with his family.

While that might bode well for his marriage, his one year sabbatical will certainly not help the two films he was meant to begin production on.

Sean Penn

Penn will not be able to star in the drama, Cartel, which is going to be forced to cast a new lead in order to keep its early fall production date.

The Afrrelly twins high production The Three Stooges, which was set to have Penn star alongside Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro will either have to wait the year for Penn or head back to the casting board.

Stooges was meant to start in August for its 2010 release.  Clearly that won't work with Penn involved.

Natalie Portman Leads Black Swan

Natalie Portman has signed on to play the lead role in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, a supernatural thriller set in the world of New York City ballet.

Black Swan enters on a veteran ballerina (Portman) who finds herself in competition with a rival dancer that is either a supernatural apparition or the ballerina's delusion.

The project was previously at Universal, but now has been making the rounds at various studios.  When the movie finds a home, production could begin as early as this year.

Aranofsky is currently set to direct the upcoming Robocop reboot.

New Writer for Karate Kid Reboot

Reboots are all the rage these days, so it's no wonder Columbia is taking its reboot of The Karate Kid seriously.  Previously being written by Chris Murphy, the job has been handed over to Steven Conrad.

Conrad, who wrote the 2006 The Persuit of Happyness, has connections to two of the producers, James Lessiter and Will Smith via Happyness.  Hopefully this switch up will be good for the film which stars production next month.

The new Karate stars Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan, and Taraji P. Henson.  We can't wait to see the Crane Kick back in action.

If you still ever want to catch the original Karate Kid all grown up, be sure and catch Ralph Macchio in his recurring role as Archie on Ugly Betty.
