Avatar, which has been in the making for over 10 years, will be Cameron's first feature film since 1997's Titanic.

Avatar is set during the 22nd century on a small moon called Pandora, which orbits a gas giant, and is inhabited by the tribal Na'vi, ten foot blue humanoids that are peaceful unless attacked. Humans cannot breathe Pandoran air, so they genetically engineer human/Na'vi hybrids known as Avatars that can be controlled via a mental link. A paralyzed Marine named Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) volunteers to exist as an Avatar on Pandora, falling in love with a Na'vi princess and becoming caught up in the conflict between her people and the human military that is consuming their world.

The film has been shot with a new 3-D camera system that Cameron has developed, and will be shown in Imax 3-D, where available.

Avatar hits theaters on December 18.

Reel Movie Trailers: Black Dynamite

If you haven't checked it out yet (and chances are you haven't), do yourself a favor and take a look at this hilarious Black Dynamite trailer!

Just like the posters, the trailer (as well as the film) is presented with old-school 70's flavor. Rudy Ray Moore never looked this good!

Catch Black Dynamite, starring Michael Jai White (Gambol from The Dark Knight), now in theaters!

First Official Look at Joe Carnahan's A-Team!

Only a day after we got our first look at Rampage Jackson as B.A. Baracus, 20th Century Fox has released a photo of the new four-man wrecking crew!

Joe Carnahan

From left to right: Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as Sgt. "B.A." Baracus, Sharlto Copley as Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock, and Liam Neeson as John "Hannibal" Smith.

Not pictured is Jessica Biel, but we've already caught a glimpse of her on set. You can click on the photo to see a larger version.

What really excites me about this picture is not just the fact that Liam Neeson looks like the spitting image of George Peppard, but if you look closely at the smoke behind Bradley Cooper, you'll notice something very familiar: B.A. Baracus' trademark black van! That's right, it looks like they're keeping the van from the original series, and not updating it to something lame and modern like a Suburban or an Escalade. Thank you Joe Carnahan!

The A-Team is scheduled to blast into your local theater on June 11, 2010.

Bond 23 to Start Shooting Next Year

Daniel Craig recently revealed to fans waiting for him outside of "A Steady Rain", the Broadway play he's currently performing with Hugh Jackman, that filming for the next Bond film should "start at the end of next year."

This will mark Criag's third appearance as James Bond, following Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, which earned $594 million and $586 million, respectively, at the worldwide box office.

Peter Morgan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are writing the script for the 23rd film. There's been no word on who will take the directing chair this time around, or whether or not Slumdog Millionaire star Frieda Pinto has made the cut as a Bond girl.

District 9 Director Finds FInancing for Follow-Up

Director Neill Blomkamp has found financing for his next film, says Variety. Sorry, it's not District 10.

Media Rights Capital has agreed to back the as of yet unnamed science fiction film. Bill Block with produce the film, and Blomkamp is already hard at work on the script.

“I’m not particularly interested in massive budget films, or creating huge spectacles that some young directors might be attracted to,” Blomkamp told Variety. “Hopefully, this will be a bit unique, very much a reflection of me. It is absolutely another science fiction film, quite different from District 9, but some of the blending of genres and the tone might be within the same realm.”

The film, which is looking at a potential start date somewhere in mid-2010, will be made before any sequel to District 9.  That's okay, because D 9 star Sharlto Copley is also already hard at work with Joe Carnahan on The A-Team.

Dylan Baker Confirmed for Spider-Man 4

Everyone who's followed Spider-Man's adventures on the comic page knows that Dr. Curt Connors is destined to become one of Spidey's most famed arch-nemeses: The Lizard.

Dylan Baker is The Lizard

We first caught a glimpse of Connors in Spider-Man 2, played by Dylan Baker. Since then, Connors has remained a background character- Peter Parker's one-armed college professor.

With each passing film, we get more and more anxious to know when Connors will make the transformation.

Last night, Baker confirmed at a Trick r' Treat screening that he will indeed be playing Dr. Connors in Spider-Man 4. However, when asked if he'll become the Lizard in this one, Baker joked that he'd be "just appearing in the background."

It is way too early to take this as a fact, though, as Sam Raimi is just starting to gear up production, and we have no idea whether Baker is allowed to disclose such a fan-frenzy-worthy detail.

Spider-Man 4 isn't due to hit theaters until May 5, 2011.

Reel Movie Trailers: Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day

After all the hell writer/director Troy Duffy went through (and caused) to make the first Boondock Saints, he's finally managed to get himself back on the horse for a sequel. After almost 10 years, the McManus brothers are back!

Take a look at Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day in this red band trailer:

Boondock Saints II opens October 30, 2009.

First Glimpse of the A-Team's New Mr. T!

We know what all of you were thinking when you heard about the new A-Team movie: Who could possibly fill Mr. T's shoes as the crabby, macho, fool-pitying B.A. Baracus?

Then we heard it was going to be Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who beat out Common for the role. Really? This was down to a mixed martial artist and a rapper, neither really well known for their acting talents? We thought B.A. deserved better than that. Even Robert Downey Jr. in black face sounded better.

But then we saw this video:

Most of the video consists of Entertainment Tonight interviewing Bradley Cooper (perfectly cast as Faceman, by the way) and the gorgeous Jessica Biel (playing an Army general??). But they also get a few words in with Rampage, and even a quick glimpse at the new B.A. yelling at the new Murdock (District 9's Sharlto Copley).

Well, after seeing that little snippet of on-set action, as brief as it was, makes us feel a whole lot better about this new A-Team movie. While we would have preferred Mr. T, because well, Mr. T. basically is B.A. Baracus in real life, it looks like Joe Carnahan and Rampage Jackson have done a good job keeping the tone and spirit of the original character alive.

A-Team is set to roll into theaters June 11, 2010.
