The upcoming movie about Facebook's creation, entitled The Social Network, may have just landed a high profile director in David Finch.  According to Variety, Columbia is in advanced talks with Fincher, who last directed The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The script, which is penned by Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men, The West Wing), is about the evolution of Facebook from its 2004 creation by Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg to the 200 million member jugernaut the site has become.

So will a high profile director and a talented writer make this ridiculous premise for a movie watchable?

Transformers 2 Already Setting Records

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opens in theaters today, but it already has been setting records with its midnight showings early this morning.

The sequel to the original blockbuster earned an estimate $16 million, making it the second highest gross midnight run after The Dark Knight's $18.5 million.

So why is this a record?  The Dark Knight had the advantage of opening on a Friday.  Transformers 2 is the highest grossing midnight run for any Wednesday midnight showing.

Don't be so angry.  Second place is still pretty impressive!

I Can Do Bad All By Myself Motion Poster

Nobody puts out movies as fast as Tyler Perry.  His latest cash cow, I Can Do All By Myself is set to hit theaters this fall on September 11th.

In his latest movie, Madea (Perry) finds a sixteen-year-old and her two little brothers robbing her house.  She sends the kids to live with their only known relative, Aunt April.

April is a bit of a drinker and a nightclub singer.  April, of course doesn't originally want the kids, but as she falls in love with some Mexican immigrant, Sandino, she changes her ways.

Anyways, due to its auto-playing of audio, the motion poster is after the jump.

Cher Returns to the Big Screen With Burlesque

Cher will be joining alongside Christina Aguilera in the contemporary musical, Burlesque.

Aguilera will play an ambitious small-town Iowa girl who comes to work in a modern burlesque home on Sunset Boulevard that's run by Tess (Cher), a former dancer struggling to keep the club open.

Spider-Man 4: Dennis Carradine is Back

According to Superhero Hype, Michael Papajohn (the actor, not the mediocre pizza chain) appeared at a panel at Wizard World Philadelphia and told fans that he would reprise his role as Dennis Carradine in Spider-Man 4.

Carradine was the carjacker that allegedly killed Uncle Ben in the original Spider-Man, only for them to tell us it was his partner Flint Marko / Sandman to commit the crime in Spider-Man 3.

We're hoping this means Carradine might become a villain and we're not doing yet another flashback to a scene that's been beaten worse than any horse we've seen.
