As you can see, this poster is a little more captivating than the current US Avatar poster, but the cheesy font remains. Be sure to check out the other posters and images from the film in our Avatar photo gallery!

Anne Hathaway Approached for Spider-Man 4?

Deadline Hollywood has reported that Anne Hathaway is being considered for a role in Spider-Man 4.

Anne Hathaway Picture

"While Sony Pictures insists no decisions have been made, sources tell me that the producers have approached Anne Hathaway to star in the film. Maybe you experts have an idea what she'll play? All I know is that she's wanted for a starring role, and she won't replace Kirsten Dunst who's also cast in the Spidey fourquel."

This news is coming right on the heels of rumors that Julia Stiles is the top pick for Black Cat, after rumors that Rachel McAdams was being considered for the part were proven false. Could Hathaway be a Black Cat pick too?

Spider-Man 4 isn't set to swing into theaters until May 6, 2011, so there's plenty of time for Raimi to make a choice.

Eva Mendes and Nicolas Cage: Photos from Bad Lieutenant

New Moon is sure to top the box office this weekend, but if you're looking for something different, something a little more hardcore, you may want to check out Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes in Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.

In Bad Lietuenant, Nic Cage plays a drug-addicted cop who is investigating the murders of five Senegalese immigrants, and when he's not sniffing out bad guys or rustling up narcotics, he's spending time with his prostitute lover, played by Eva Mendes.

Lies! Rachel McAdams No, Julia Stiles Yes for Spider-Man 4?

While Spider-Man 4 is chugging along, it seems that some of what we've been hearing hasn't been true. Rachel McAdams has denied rumors that she is even in the running for the role of Black Cat in the latest Spidey adventure.

Julia Stiles Picture

It would seem that Bourne trilogy alum Julia Stiles is the top contender now. Reports say the 10 Things I Hate About You star "has met with a casting company in New York to discuss (the project)."

Just as with McAdams, conclusions shouldn't be jumped to, as this certainly doesn't mean Miss Stiles has the part, only that she's being considered.

Conversely, a casting notice for a Caucasian toddler with red hair have triggered rumors that Peter Parker and Mary-Jane Watson will be having a child in this latest installment...

Nic Cage Assaults an Old Lady!

We love Nicolas Cage. He's either doing something amazing or horrible, but either way, it's ridiculously entertaining. Just take a look at these Wicker Man scenes to see what we mean.

In Werner Herzog's newest film, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, Cage plays a sleep deprived, drug-addicted cop. As such, the role requires a level of lunacy only Cage can deliver.

And boy, does Cage deliver! Enter your age in the box to check out this clip from the film where Cage's Detective Terence McDonagh leans hard on a harmless wheelchair-bound senior citizen to get some crucial information about the case he's working:

If that's just a taste of what McDonagh is like, I can't wait to see what Cage does with the rest of the film. Add to that the fact that the sultry Eva Mendes plays Cage's prostitute lover, and you can consider my ticket purchased!

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans opens this Friday, November 20!

2012 Director Talks Independence Day Sequels

Roland Emmerich is up to his old antics again. Last week, he amused us by claiming that he plans to be skiing on Doomsday in 2012, and now he's making ridiculous comments about the long-overdue Independence Day sequel that has been floundering for years.

Roland Emmerich On Set

"What we want to do in the next – it's actually two movies – we want to do a bigger arc," Emmerich recently told MTV News. "'Independence Day' was always like the king who leads his troops into battle against an evil force, and that stays like that."

"The idea is just to continue the story and actually I don't know how many years ago this was—twelve, thirteen, fourteen years ago—and just continue where it ended," he added.

The best part was delivered in Emmerich's usual playful, flamboyant manner. The title for these new engines of destruction? "'ID4-ever,' Part I and II maybe?"

No, that's not a typo. The notoriously boisterous German disaster man actually came up with a title more befitting a Wayan's brothers parody than a blow-em-up alien invasion film.

The real question is was he joking? Well, as it's Roland Emmerich, you can never tell...

At least Emmerich deserves to be playful; 2012 nabbed the top spot this weekend, earning a hefty $65 million dollars.

Angelina Jolie on the Salt Poster

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, which is probably why the poster for Salt, a new thriller featuring Angelina Jolie, is so simple. All that is needed to drum up interest is the stark image of Angelina in character as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent accused of being a spy for Russia.

The thriller, directed by Philip Noyce, sends Jolie on the run from authorities to try to clear her name, but the deeper they dig, the more they find themselves repeating the tagline on the poster: "Who is Salt?"

Salt is slated for a July 23, 2010 release.

Three New Alice in Wonderland Posters!

Last week, Disney released an Alice in Wonderland poster featuring Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. Now, they've rounded out the set with two additional posters, as well as a third that combines all three character posters into a banner-wide triptych.
