Confirmed: Megatron to Return in Transformers Sequel

Not exactly earth-shattering news on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but still worth reporting:

According to CHUD, Megatron will play a key role in the follow-up to the 2007 blockbuster. He'll be "brought back by the Autobots, who need him to conquer the new menace. But I've learned that this time he won't be that weird alien jet. This time he's a tank."

Megatron

As we've previously reported, the titular Fallen refers to one of the original 13 Transformers created by Primus.

In Transformers lore, the Fallen betrayed the god-like Primus by allying himself with the planet-devouring Unicron. The Fallen was eventually trapped between dimensions.

Goonies 2 Really is in the Works

We don't know much about the often-rumored Goonies sequel, but we can report that plans for the film really, truly, are in the works.

Sources at Moviehole.net have confirmed at least two pieces of information:

  1. Warner Bros. will go through with a large-scale theatrical release of the movie;
  2. There are several writers working on the project - and they're being paid handsomely for their services.

So, what do you think? Do you wanna see a Goonies 2?

The mere thought has up typing furiously with excitement, but they best not mess up an all-time classic. The pressure is on, writers!

Reel Movie Reviews: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2

ReviewsWhile the orignal The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was a modest hit - enough to warrant a follow-up - this weekend's sequel should fare quite well at the box office. The reason?

All four stars have found small screen success, elevating their status as actresses. Does this mean The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 is worth your time and money? A few film critics answered that question...

- Provides a strong showcase for four deserving actresses and healthy lessons for an underserved audience of girls and young women... -- Groucho Reviews

- The four leads are all capable stewards of their characters, each with their own sunniness and charm... -- Screen International

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 Pic

- With very little sex and very little city, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 still seems a good bet to grab a sizable chunk of the underserved chick-flick demographic... -- Variety

- [T]his sequel to the 2005 sleeper hit feels like the Teen People version of an old Hollywood "women's picture," the sort of vehicle that kept Joan Blondell and Ann Sothern busy before and during World War II... -- MSNBC

Arnold Schwarzenegger Screens Terminator Salvation

The producers of Terminator Salvation recently screened footage of their movie for a certain former actor and current governor.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, however, wasn't overly impressed. He didn't sound enthusastic about the rebooting of the franchise he began in 1984.

"I still don't know how it will play out with this one," Schwarzenegger told The LA Times. "They showed me some footage, but I don't have a feel for the movie. I didn't see enough. I wasn't sure who the Terminator was. I don't know if there is one or if he's the star or the hero. These are the things that determine the success and how the strong the movie will be."

Terminator Salvation producers face a tough critic in Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Justice League of America Update: Megan Gale Praised, Production to Resume

In Australia's Herald Sun, Justice League of America director George Miller says production on the anticipated, albeit troubled, movie will resume in 2009.

He also has nothing but praise for actress Megan Gale, saying she "blitzed her opposition" when she read for the part of Wonder Woman.

"I had no idea she was so good," Miller said. "She walked into our office in Sydney and read the part. She has done some Italian movies, but I didn't think she would be as good as she was.

"But once she read we all looked around at each other and said, 'Well, there's no question.'"
