Rob Corddry Lands Lead in Project A

Rob Corddry has landed his first starring role. The former fake news reporter on The Daily Show will play the lead role in Project A.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Corddry will star as the "A" in the venture, playing a man trained by the U.S. government as a Cold War experiment to become the world's biggest jerk. The script is written by Etan Cohen, one of the writers of Ben Stiller's upcoming Tropic Thunder.

"Ben and Stuart gave it to me to read years ago, and it's always been the first thing I ask my agents and managers about," Corddry said. "They've always said, 'Go open a movie first!'"

Corddry's big screen career is really taking off. He appears in Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay and What Happens in Vegas, both currently in theaters.

The actor said he's happy to reach the stage of his career where is being considered for larger roles.

"I'm slowly working my way up the ladder, starting from high school drama class," he said. "I am hoping this will break my cherry, as it were."

Only half-joking, he added, "I've never been higher than No. 3 on the call sheet."

You Don't Mess with the Zohan. Or Baron Davis.

You Don't Mess with the Zohan met the NBA a couple weeks ago.

Star Adam Sandler was featured alongside Baron Davis in a commercial for the playoffs. While Davis' Golden State Warriors didn't even qualify for the NBA post-season, Sandler hopes his film is a hit with movie goers.

Adam Brody Shares Justice League Experience

Adam Brody, who costars alongside Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried in Jennifer's Body - recently talked with IGN about his extended preproduction process on Justice League of America.

Before the film was eventually shelved, that is.

"It was an interesting process," Brody said during an interview for his new film. "It was such a fun time, and I went to Australia for a month and that was great."

Brody signed on to Justice League to play The Flash for director George Miller (Happy Feet). He admitted that he didn't even know the status of the project, but added that the production was surprisingly unrestrained in terms of revealing details about the characters and script.

"I don't know what's going on with it. Do you?" he joked. "That was an interesting process, and I was always â€" I always felt so excited, like 'I got the part! Now they're going to take me to the secret bunker in Warner Brothers and debrief us, so nobody can talk about [anything]. It's going to be so official.'

But it sort of wasn't, and it didn't feel official, like stuff leaked out, and we're doing stuff like this but we're not supposed to talk about what's going on."

Diablo Cody Dishes on Jennifer’s Body

Diablo Cody PictureSo far, the main attention paid to Jennifer's Body has been due to the rumors that Megan Fox gets naked in the film.

But writer Diablo Cody - who penned the upcoming horror movie as a follow-up to Juno - recently explained other aspects of the flick.

"This is a horror movie. Not to sound like a pretentious douchebag, but it's a horror movie made by filmmakers, by people who genuinely love film," Cody said to ShockTillYouDrop.com on the Vancouver set.

"Karyn Kusama is a total horror geek, I'm a horror geek, the producers are into this stuff. This was not a mercenary effort to make it seem like something that fit a profile.

We wanted to make a horror movie and we're totally respectful of the films that come before us and I think people will see that in the finish product."

What year is this?!?

We certainly aren't complaining, though, as Jonah Hill is reportedly being considered for the big screen adaption of 21 Jump Street.

The Superbad star is in negotiations to develop a movie based on the 1980s TV show that starred Johnny Depp. Sony confirms the actor will, at minimum,  work on the screenplay and serve as executive producer.

The series, which ran from 1987 to 1991, centered on a group of young cops whose youthful appearance allowed them to work undercover in high schools and colleges, searching for troubled kids.

Get Ready for a Fraggle Rock Movie!

All of a sudden, Sex and the City: The Movie isn't the most exciting upcoming film based on television series. At least not to us.

It's been confirmed that the Weinstein Company will turn the Jim Henson series Fraggle Rock into a live-action musical feature, reports Variety.

Just like the series, the movie will be populated by a mix of human characters and Fraggle Rock puppets. The film will take the core characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red outside of their home in Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans, which they think are aliens. Obviously.

The show premiered on HBO in 1983, ran five seasons and was broadcast in more than 80 countries. It ruled!

Reel Movie Reviews: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

With The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian set to hit theaters Friday, those behind the follow-up to The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe must be wondering:

Will this follow the successful path of Iron Man, or the doomed path of Speed Racer?

So far, critics seem to be leaning toward the former. Here are a few of their views on Prince Caspian...

- A bit darker, more conventional and more crisply made than its 2005 predecessor... -- Variety

- A far superior film in terms of the quality on every level, but one that suffers from the weaker source material... -- ComingSoon.net

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

- A worthy if somewhat less wondrous successor to that 2005 phenomenon... -- The Hollywood Reporter

- The second chapter of the Narnia saga is bigger and "more epic" yet lacks the dramatic energy and narrative involvement of the first, problems that also exist in the literary source (Lewis' book), but it signals the birth of a new star, Brit Ben Barnes... -- Emanuel Levy
