Sean Combs Stars in A Raisin in the Sun

No, not Diddy. And certainly not P. Daddy.

The star of the upcoming television movie, A Raisin in the Sun, wants to make it clear: he's Sean Combs.

"The reason why it's very important to me is ya'll know me for a lot for different thingsâ€"music, fashion, television and films. But you don't really know me as an actor," said the music mogul. "I'd like to introduce my actor to you. That's me! Sean Combs! My name is Sean Combs! You know I've got a lot of split personalities."

Ok, SEAN, let's look at your film's trailer:

A Reel Actor Profile: Vinessa Shaw

The 2007 remake of 3:10 to Yuma was billed as a vehicle for Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. And for good reason: those stars put on a pair of great performances.

Vinessa ShawBut a young actress also garnered attention after her performance in the film: Vinessa Shaw.

Slated for three more films in 2008, Shaw is a popular commodity in Hollywood. With that in mind, here are a few interesting facts about the actress:

  • She dated actor Jonathan Brandis while filming Ladybugs in 1992.
  • Attended Barnard College, but never graduated.
  • Also dated Oliver Hudson at one point.
  • Auditioned for the part of Jenny Everdeane in Gangs of New York. Part eventually went to Cameron Diaz.
  • Ranked #66 in Stuff magazine's "102 Sexiest Women In The World" in 2002.

Sylvester Stallone Speaks on Rambo

Yes, Rambo is back.

Its star, Sylvester Stallone, recently chatted with Comingsoon.net about reprising one of his most famous roles:

CS: Did you have to go back and watch the previous "Rambo" films to get back into character?
Stallone: Yeah, you know kind of just the ponderousness that comes with aging, the sense of weight, the sense of knowledge, knowing too much, the lack of naiveté which happened in my life, sort of set the stage for me. I wanted Rambo to be heavier, bulkier, that's why his first line in the movie is pretty negative. He's given up. He has nothing.

Rambo in Action!

The other Rambos I felt had a bit too much energy. They were a little too spry. I'm not trying to run myself down but there was much more vanity involved. Tank tops, it was all about body movement rather than just the ferocity and the commitment of what he was doing. This character to me is much more interesting.

I like "First Blood" and I like this one, just like the first "Rocky" and the last "Rocky Balboa." Everything in between was kind of trying to figure out what I should do.

Michael Keaton Supports The Dark Knight

281x211.jpg As the original Batman, it's interesting to her the take of Michael Keaton on the follow-ups to his franchise. MTV recently asked the actor about it:

MTV: What's your take on the latest Batman?
Keaton: I've only seen a little piece [of the sequels] here and there since I finished mine, not for any reason except that I didn't have any real interest.

The reason they weren't interesting was the reason I didn't want to do them anymore. I read the script [for "Batman Forever"]. I wasn't into it.

But how I wanted to do the third one is what they did in [Batman Begins]. I read an article about how they were going about it and I said, "That's exactly what I thought should be done." [Christopher Nolan] is so good and [Christian Bale] is so good. I really would like to see [Batman Begins]. I'm sure it's good and I'm sure [The Dark Knight] is going to be better.

Chris Pine is Captain Kirk

Is Chris Pine feeling pressure to star as an icon in the next Star Trek movie? Entertainment Weekly recently asked the actor this question, along with a few others:

Are you feeling any pressure to evoke William Shatner?
I actually feel the exact opposite. I think the biggest mistake I could ever do would be to try to re-create what Mr. Shatner did. There are certain qualities that Kirk has that are vital for someone who is a leader of men. And those qualities, I definitely wanted to take from what Mr. Shatner did in the original series. But my job is to take something new, to take that and build upon it, really do my own thing. I just feel no pressure when it comes to that.

Chris Pine

Chris Pine is the new Captain James T. Kirk.

Is the pressure coming more from the fanboys and their off-the-charts expectations?
Yeah, sure, the Internet is not my friend in this case. Best to stay away. I can understand, I don't have that many credits and people are very worried that their Kirk is going to be destroyed. But I can only say that we're having a great time. J.J. [Abrams, the director] has been wonderful and the cast is phenomenal. I think what we're doing is very special.

Have you talked with Shatner?
I have not talked to Shatner. I wrote him a letter early on in the process and corresponded that way. I got a letter back from him, which is very nice. And I've met Mr. Nimoy a couple of times. He's been on set and we have a couple of scenes in the film, which will be nice, and I'm excited for those.

Reel Movie Reviews: Good Luck Chuck

reel-reviews-logo43.jpg Renting Good Luck Chuck tonight? It comes out on DVD this week.

If so, we just wanted to wish you the very best of luck in your attempt to enjoy this Jessica Alba/Dane Cook train wreck. Just look at what a series of movie critics have to say about this comedy disaster...

- A lot of the humor comes from taking clichéd dirty jokes and bringing them to life, but it will make you laugh. -- Smart Cine

- Good Luck Chuck aims for laughs with pratfalls and gross-out humor, but viewers looking for funny are out of luck. -- Entertainment Weekly

Good Luck Chuck

- Overweight people in lingerie. Overweight people in swim suits. Overweight people in general. Barbershop quartets performing pop singles. Chipped teeth. If these things - in and of themselves, without any attachment to plot or character or elegant construction or witty execution - are funny to you, you'll love Good Luck Chuck. And may God have mercy on your soul. -- Cinematical

- Good Luck Chuck is one of those supposed comedies where I (and hopefully others) left the theatre shaking my head wondering who the hell could possibly think this movie is funny. -- Empire Movies

The Premiere of The Great Buck Howard

The Great Buck Howard is receiving rave reviews at the Sundance Fil Festival.

The movie - which centers on a law school dropout that answers an advertisement to be a personal assistant for a belligerent has-been magician, struggling to resurrect his career - stars Colin Hanks and was actually produced by his father, a chap named Tom.

Here's a clip of Tom Hanks talking about the movie at its premiere:

Megan Gale Gushes About Wonder Woman

The big screen version of Justice League of America has been delayed until the writers' strike ends, but Megan Gale has confirmed that she'll be portraying Wonder Woman when the film finally is released.

"I've been a fan of Wonder Woman since I was a teenager,'' Gale said. "People used to tell me I looked like Lynda Carter. It was always a bit of a fantasy. It was never going to be a reality for me, but it kind of found me and I'm a big believer in fate and destiny. Even if the writers' strike goes on forever, for me, the fact that I've been cast as Wonder Woman is enough.''

Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan: Inside Eagle Eye

Shia LaBeouf is a busy young actor.

As he gets ready to go on a publicity tour for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the young actor is also filming Eagle Eye.

Michelle MonaghanBelow, he talks to ComingSoon.net about the new movie. He's joined by pretty co-star Michelle Monaghan (pictured)...

CS: Can you talk about your relationship in the film and how your characters meet?
LaBeouf: We're strangers. I don't know who she is and she doesn't know who I am. We're being led to each other and on this journey together by a voice named Aria who is basically commanding us to do various things.

CS: Such as?
LaBeouf: Such a jump into this tour bus, rob that Brinks truck…
Monaghan: Go to the airport.
LaBeouf: Grab this case. Jump in this car.
Monaghan: It's almost like a scavenger hunt in a way. We don't know what we're doing.
LaBeouf: You have 15 seconds to leave this building or you'll die. Stuff like that. There's no explanation. There's no conservation.
Monaghan: It's life or death.

CS: What makes you take the voice seriously?
LaBeouf: We both have situations where we both come very close to death. But very strategic planned close to death. It's enough for us to realize it, but this voice knows we're safe.
