The movie suffers from a severe technical flaw. The sting of the box jelly (aka "sea wasp" -- Chironex fleckeri) is both a neurotoxin and a cardiotoxin, which would have rendered his heart useless for transplant. I hope this movie doesn't inspire people to try to use this method of suicide. If you want to donate your heart, shoot yourself in the head.

I completely agree with John Roland. The technical flaw ruined the entire movie for me, and I think for a movie with such a big budget, it's shameful that they overlooked that one humongous detail.
I'm a med student, which could be why it irked me.
