Summary

Lester Burnham is the perfect husband with the perfect house, in the perfect neighborhood - on the outside. Inside, Lester is slipping deeper and deeper into a mid-life crisis sparked by hopeless depression.

He finally snaps when he becomes infatuated with one of his high school daughter's friends. Meanwhile, his daughter, Jane is developing a happy friendship with the shy boy-next-door, Ricky, who lives with his military officer father.
