In Atonement, Robbie Turner is never supposed to fall in love with Cecilia. He's a worker on the grounds of the Tallis home is all, though it's obvious Robbie has a great deal of intelligence. After he's accused of a heinous crime he didn't commit, Robbie is sent to prison, then the military. But don't think he ever forgets about Cecilia.
