Landon Carter is a popular boy who's forced to do community service after one of his high school pranks goes wrong. Landon ends up doing the play as part of his service where he meets the beautiful Jamie. He initially seeks her out to help him learn his lines, but eventually falls in love with the girl he never thought he would. When he learns she's dying of leukemia, he helps her complete her list of things to do before she dies.
