Jane Nichols is always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Literally. She's owned 27 bridesmaid dresses - hence, the name of the of the movie - because she's been in that many wedding parties. It takes Jane awhile to realize that she doesn't have to so selfless all the time. Once she learns that lesson, maybe she can find love.
