Grandpa Hoover has recently been kicked out of his retirement home for snorting heroin and had to move in with the Hoover family. Since moving in he has become very close with his granddaughter Olive and has become her coach in the beauty pageants. Grandpa joins the family on the road trip to the Little Miss Sunshine contest and becomes the source of entertainment.
