Frank Castle is the main character in Punisher: War Zone. He actually began his life studying to be a Roman Catholic priest - but gave that up because he couldn't forgive certain people.
After his family was muredered, Castle began a vigilante known as The Punisher. He has taken on almost every known criminal organization, such as the Italian Mafia, the Russian Mafia, the Japanese Yakuza, the Colombian and Mexican drug cartels and many others. Castle's military training helping his thrwart his enemies.
