Daybreakers

Daybreakers presents a grim view of the future, where vampires rule the world and human beings are hunted and harvested for blood. But as fewer humans remain, the blood is drying up.

Ethan Hawke plays Edward Dalton, a hematologist looking for a way to supplant blood with a suitable substitute in order to prevent the populace from mutating into ravenous, wild, bat-like creatures known as Subsiders. When he runs into Elvis, a human who was once a vampire, he discovers a cure for vampirism, which may be society's only hope. However, corporate boss Charles Bromley doesn't see things the same way, as he'd rather make more money off the dwindling blood supply than offer up a cure...
