Movie Rumor of the Day: George Clooney as Jack Ryan

Having finally exhausted the Ocean's 11 franchise, word around Hollywood is that George Clooney might be interested in following in Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck's shoes.

The actor often takes on at least one commercial vehicle in exchange for anchoring smaller, more personal projects.

As first reported by The Daily Beast, this career path may lead him into the Tom Clancy-create role of Jack Ryan. The website reports:

A source says [Clooney] expressed interest in playing Jack Ryan when and if Paramount attempts to revive the Tom Clancy series. Clooney seems to recognize that at this time in the world and this time in his life (he's pushing 50), it's time for some commercial maintenance.

Heard that they say George Clooney is too old. Alex O'Loughlin, 33 years old, should be the next Jack Ryan, he's hot and sexy. He was once considered for the role of James Bond 007. He has two movies coming out, Whiteout (he plays the bad guy) and The Back-Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez out in theaters January 22, 2010. He was in CBS Moonlight as Mick St. John Vampire and will be in CBS Three Rivers Oct. 4. He also played Hiatt on The Shield. He enjoys rock climbing and riding motorcycles.
