Juan Antonio Bayona: Rumored for Eclipse

A couple weeks ago, Drew Barrymore was among those rumored to direct the third Twilight film, Eclipse. And she very well might (though we doubt it).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new name has surfaced as a possible director for the movie: Juan Antonio Bayona.

Also rumored for the Eclipse gig: James Mangold (Walk the Line) and Paul Weitz (American Dreamz).

Eclipse is tentatively set for a June 30, 2010 release.

Vin Diesel Teases Chronicles of Riddick Sequel

As Vin Diesel does publicity for the upcoming movie Dark of Athena, the actor gave reporters a hint of another future project.

"Maybe we've been too tight lipped about the next Chronicles of Riddick film, and I think circa the release of [Dark Athena] that's probably when you'll start hearing more about the next Riddick film," Diesel said.

He added that David Twohy is finishing the script for the next Chronicles of Riddick movie.

The previous installment, The Chronicles of Riddick, was considered a commercial failure. It made a relatively disappointing $115 million at the box office.

Zack Snyder Scoffs at Watchmen Sequel

Yes, Watchmen is raking in the money at the box office.

But, no, a sequel certainly isn't in the works. At least not on director Zack Snyder's watch.

"I know that I wouldn't have anything to do with it," Snyder told The New York Times recently.

A Hero Complex

Snyder expounded on the idea for a sequel, letting his anger rise at the mere concept.

"It would be like me going to [No Country for Old Men author] Cormac McCarthy and going, 'I have an idea for a [sequel]: You write a book, and I'll write a movie, and you can release it. You'll win a Pulitzer; I'll win an Oscar. It'll be awesome,' " Snyder said, condemning the Hollywood belief that every comic-based movie should just keep cranking out sequels as long as there's money to be made.

"The attitude toward comic books, they show their hand a little bit. They would never say that about a real novelist, but they would about a comic book."

Nicolas Cage Reveals Hopes for Ghost Rider 2

Ghost Rider 2 is looking more and more like a strong possibility.

Star Nicolas Cage told MTV over the weekend that the search is on to find a screenwriter for the sort of-anticipated sequel.

The actor, who will reprise his role as Johnny Blaze for the movie, wants Ghost Rider 2 "to have that action horror element and go deeper into that if it were to happen and [it should] keep us asking questions. Keep it interesting on a philosophical level."

Russell Brand Speaks on Pirates of the Caribbean 4 Role

Will Russell Brand appear in Pirates of the Caribbean 4, as rumors have stated?

Access Hollywood asked the actor that question. His reply:

"There's been some talk of doing [Pirates of the Caribbean 4]," Russell told Billy Bush. "But, I've got eight other things to do [including] Get Him To The Greek with Judd Apatow... So I don't know if there'll be time to be a pirate, I've got enough of that in me private life."

In the Apatow comedy, Brand will reprise his character Aldous Snow from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Little Fockers Writer: Full Cast Expected Back

A sequel to Meet the Fockers is definitely in the works.

While no release date has been announced for Little Fockers, John Hamburg told MTV that the full cast from the previous movie is expected to return.

“I think everybody is going to be back in some capacity,” said Hamburg, who is penning a rewrite of the script after Larry Stuckey wrote an earlier version.

Mother and son Focker

The full Meet the Fockers cast would include: Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Owen Wilson, Dustin Hoffman, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo and Barbara Streisand, who has not appeared in a movie since the 2004 film.

David Wain (Role Models) is being considered to direct.

Zoolander Sequel: Definitely on the Way?

We were already excited about the prospect of a Zoolander sequel.

But after hearing about the title John Hamburg - the writer of the original hit movie - has in mind, we truly can't wait for this Ben Stiller project to get off the ground. He told MTV it might be called Twolander.

Genius.

“Ben and I have talked about it for a little while,” said Hamburg, referring to a follow-up that would reunite Stiller’s Zoolander with his nemesis-turned-comrade Hansel (Owen Wilson). “I think someday we will make that movie.”

Derek Zoolander

Why has it taken so long to write a Zoolander sequel?

“It’s best for sequels to wait 14-19 years, I think,” joked Hamburg, before providing a serious explanation. “I think to catch up with two male models ten years later, there’s a lot of room for comedy.”
