Shrek Goes Fourth Spoilers: Plot Details Revealed?

According to movie website Lackluster Emporium, a copyright pre-registration for DreamWorks Animation's Shrek Goes Fourth has been released.

The site hints that this may be the first look where the studio is headed with the next installment in this wildly-popular franchise:

After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws' kingdom, what's an ogre to do? Well, if you're Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. What's happened to this ogre's roar?

Longing for the days when he felt like a "real ogre," Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumplestiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it's up to Shrek to undo all he's done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

Dan Aykroyd Fuels Ghostbusters 3 Rumors

Dan Aykroyd participated in a chat with The Boston Globe over the weekend.

The actor and comedian was asked by someone about the status of Ghostbusters 3 and he wrote the following:

Script is commenced early summer. Hope to be in production by late fall 2009.

We'll post more news as it breaks, but it sounds more and more likely that Ghostbusters 3 will become a reality.

Madea Goes to Top of the Box Office

While Hollywood went to the Oscars last night, movie goers went to jail with Madea.

Tyler Perry's latest comedy raked in millions, dominating the weekend's box office haul. Here's a look at the complete top five:

  1. Madea Goes to Jail: $41.1 million
  2. Taken: $11.4 million
  3. Coraline: $11 million
  4. He's Just Not That Into You: $8.5 million
  5. Slumdog Millionaire: $8 million

And the Oscar Goes to ...

... Slumdog Millionaire. For pretty much everything, including Best Picture.

That film was the big winner on the night, while Heath Ledger won a posthumous Academy Award For Best Supporting Actor and Kate Winslet and Sean Penn took home the top acting honors at the 81st Annual Academy Awards.

Release Date Announced for Eclipse

The Twilight saga is not slowing down any time soon.

Eclipse, the third film in this beloved trilogy based on Stephenie Meyer's teen vampire books, has already scheduled a release date: June 30, 2010.

Look for it in theaters barely six months after the series' second movie, New Moon, comes out on November 20, 2009.

Another important piece of news regarding Eclipse: Chris Weitz will not direct the movie, due to scheduling conflicts.
